How many gloves do you go through a year?

I only use gloves from approximately March-November, mainly to keep the sun off my hand. But that's still something like 150 rounds of golf so I'll go through probably three dozen gloves in that time. Fortunately I use the $8 MG Golf gloves which just happen to fit me perfectly.

I have in the past used some synthetic (no leather at all) Taylormade gloves that would handle many more cycles of sweat/dry/sweat/dry without stretching out of shape. And they were actually unaffected by going through the washing machine. I'd get easily 15+ rounds out of each of those gloves. But they are thick and stiff feeling and never did fit me quite right so I just "splurge" on a nice, thin leather MG glove every week when the old one gets stretched out.

Basically if I get alternate two of the $8 gloves and can make a pair of them last two weeks (about 10 rounds) I figure I'm getting good enough value. On average I go through about one $4 golf ball per round and $16 worth of gloves every ten rounds. So my per-round cost of "consumables" is somewhere in the $5-$6 range (including the cheap plastic tees that last forever but I lose 1-2 per round).

I found some Hirzl Soft flex Cabrera gloves on Amazon a little over a year ago. I bought 24 and ended up paying about $4 each for them. They are nice and soft, and hands down the most durable glove I’ve ever used. They were reduced, because the rubber branding they had on the closure falls off the first time you try them on. Who cares??? Even better now since they have no branding on them at all! I used to go through gloves like water, but these things are awesome. Went through last summer with just 4 gloves, which is over half what I normally go through.

I have around 15 different colors, but only wear them when I play.  When I practice, I do not use a glove.  One reason is to give myself more confidence when my grip is slipping, and the second reason is to save money on gloves!  That finally backfired after years of doing it though.  I now have a large split between my palm and pinky that needs to be glued together, not fun.

I used Tour Velvets for grips and would say I have a pretty strong grip. My glove of choice is the Cobra PUR Tour, Titleist Permasoft / Players, and taylormade tour gloves. Unfortunately, all expensive and very thin. I will play 50+ rounds in a year and think I go through maybe 3 - 4 a year with those. I used to use MG golf gloves and those very amazing and last a long time but were a shade thicker than most.

They all fail at different points for me though. The Cobras velcro is not good and loses it's stay along with the stitching failing around the velcro. Titleist gloves tend to wear on my palm and the Taylormades start failing on my thumb.

I go through A LOT of gloves. Probably 1 - 2 /week. I keep 3-4 gloves in my bag at any given time in graded states of use. My hands sweat quite a bit in the summer. I'm convinced that I have oddly shaped thumbs and I'm always readjusting my gloves between shots. I buy 10 - 20 at a time from PGA Tour Superstore.

Rain gloves are the answer. That's all I wear when it's hot out. They last years.

15 or more Titleist Perma soft a year roughly, dont even play as much as I should either. Maybe 1-2 range sessions a week and 18-36 holes holes a week. I have sweaty hands...

I do wonder about that when I read about how long gloves last for some people.

I can put on a glove on a cool, dry, November day when a normal person could probably play 36 holes without breaking a sweat. After five holes my glove will be completely soaked through and I'll have to switch to another glove. I'll also be sweating through my hat almost from the beginning of the round.

There's just not much way for a leather glove to last a long time when it is constantly being soaked from the inside by my sweaty hands. I've got to just buy cheap gloves and accept that they'll be pretty clapped out after a few rounds.

I only use MG gloves. Same quality as the major brands (FJ, Titleist, TM, etc.) at about 1/3 the price. I'll order them 10 at a time and it's less than $100. I'll do an order about twice a year.

** Disclaimer - I have no idea if they ship to Canada or not.

I know this is an old thread, but MG does not ship to Canada. I order 10-12 Dynagrip Elites at Christmas time to the in-laws house for me to grab when we visit.

I have some mild hyperhydrosis and on top of that I live in Florida so the humidity is high. I have to rotate 2-3 gloves when I play. Same thing on the range, I have to just keep rotating gloves. I have been using an antiperspirant hand cream called Carpe and it works awesome! I always forget to put it on tho, you have to keep doing it every day.

I just recently changed mine because I found one I wanted to try. I have almost 100 rounds on my old glove and it can do 100 rounds more.
