WINNERS: Fujikura VENTUS TR Shaft Giveaway! Check Inside!

Recommended Posts

I had the chance to take it out and give it a few holes today.

A little background…

I am a +1 handicap that plays typically 3-4 times per month. Swing speed is 112-114.

My current gamer for the last year+ has been a Tensei 1k 60tx. Tipped half an inch and playing at 45.25”. It’s been a wonderful shaft for me. I feel like it explodes through the ball and produces some of the highest ball speeds I’ve ever had. I can cut it or turn it over but it doesn’t have a big left miss which is good for me.

I didn’t love the original ventus which was very frustrating because EVERYONE did. Ha! All that to say, I was very excited to see if the TR could redeem the ventus line for me.

I got out for a short range session and played nine with the TR. coming off an Achilles problem so I haven’t swung in a couple weeks so this is not feel testing and data. Just first impression.

I had DR and Artisan build the shaft for me so I know nothing is the builders fault. If he can build Tigers clubs for a couple decades he can handle mine.

I built it to the exact specs as the 1k. 45.25”. Tipped half an inch.

The shaft felt great, although not as explosive feeling as the 1k. Pretty windy here in Fort Worth today so tracking distances was tough. The shaft kept wanting to go left on me. Threw the 1k back in on the range after and no left.

The shaft looks incredible and I’m excited to get on TrackMan with it to give it a good chance. I’ll toy around with settings and all that good stuff but as of now something special will have to happen to kick out the 1k.

thank you Golfwrx and fujikura for the chance to try this thing! I’m very grateful.

Over the top excited to give this shaft a workout. I just need to decide what driver I am gonna put it in. Currently playing a Ping G LS model with a real deal blue board but have been thinking about building this shaft up with one of the new 2021/2022 heads instead of my old beater Ping G

One advantage of putting it into a trusty old faithful is you know how that driver head feels/reacts, so you can really tell what that ventus is doing.

2 rounds today with the new shaft. Too early to come to a concrete conclusion, but I think the shaft plays a little stiffer and heavier than I like. It feels borderline boardie to me, which is more of a result of my swing speed and loading than the shaft itself. BUT, more testing to follow. I might try and heavy the head a little and see if that produces a little more feel towards the bottom of the club.

i have 4 ventus shafts (black 7tx, blue tr 8tx, black 10x, and black hb 10tx) that i put a lot more stress on than most do and none of them have cracked.

i have no idea what those dudes in the broken shaft thread are doing.

My black 7x cracked but I have been gaming it since the OG Sim came out,  so it had a good run. Btw, it just cracked in the downswing during a warm up session. It must've been fairly loud cuz I had my buds in with jams and I heard and felt it very clearly. I had a moment of silence for my dear lost friend...bad timing too, qualifier 3 days later with no backup.

  • 1 month later...

Currently playing this shaft in a 2 year old Sim. The shaft performs really well now after getting a hundred or so swings on it. I believe it was a little too stiff for my 106 max swing speed originally but it has softened up a little and is now really playable. Comparing to my blue board, plays a little stiffer which is a good thing. My blue board plays a little softer in the tip than this does and allows the ball to jump high right on me occasionally. I feel like I can flight this shaft much better and that was something I hoped to do. Pretty happy so far. Thank you again GOLFWRX!!
