No wind tomorrow in the forecast. The fairways will still be soft so will play relatively close to how they did today. I do think the sub air will firm up the greens some overnight. Going to make my way out there tomorrow, a buddy of mine works for Kupcho

My group with Nelly will be one ahead of Kupcho’s today so say hi if you see me when I’m near the ropes! I’ll be wearing fluorescent yellow and pink Nikes.

What bothered me about Paige's rant was the implication it's a contest of who can hit a 7-wood best and not a true test.  Ingee identified she need woods with more loft and changed the clubs in her bag and executed it.  So, for me when you make a plan and execute it, you deserve credit for doing so.

Furthermore, she hit 14/14 fairways. Was that her 7 wood? She made 9 birdies and the ones on the telecast were in the 10-15 foot range. Was that her 7 wood? Yes her 7 wood set her up for all those birdies, but all these players are carrying at least a 5 wood anyway (except maybe Lexi).

Isn't In Gee Chun's 7 wood (Loft adjusted down, from 20.5* to 19*) = more akin to an old-school 5-wood Loft anyway? (based on this Link: https://ping.com/en-us/pros/lpga-tour/in-gee-chun , that was shared by @agolf1)

She is still complaining about the course this morning.  Just saw the Nelly interview and she said that she hit Driver, hybrid, 7 wood on 9.  That is crazy since she is one of the longest hitters on tour.  Thankfully they changed the setup slightly and with the nicer weather, you can see the scores coming down.  Well not literally since there is no tv coverage currently 🤬.  In Gee will need to make sure her 7 wood and her putter stay hot because the chasers (Lydia) are coming.

@HankScorpio: You weren't kidding! Lydia at "-5" for R2 after 9 holes?

Yeah, it's a "5 wood."  A long time ago she had a 5W but this was swapped out for the 19H.  In more recent times, her bag has been D-3W, 19H, 22H, 5-GW, SW, LW, Putter.  I've wondered whether she has some non-PING utility iron or something in place of the 5-iron (website only shows i210 6-iron - PW)?

If you have time - this is pretty interesting from CCC's greenskeeper and how he sets up course for PGA; and contrasts changes made from original to new.  Thought it might interest Golfwrxers.

Had breakfast this am and chatted with some insiders.  Karrie Webb was in town, and based on the length of the course - she declined to enter.    Friend of one of the players said they hit driver, 3 wood, and still had 7 iron into the green on #9.   Shortest club they had into approach yesterday was a 9 iron.  She said that the course was playing very long - particularly with rain - course was playing soft, and there was not much roll.

All of the above makes sense that they have moved the tees forward today.   Could be interesting.  🙂

Beautiful 🦅for Lexi on 17.   So few women can spin it the way she does.  And I know its been mentioned here a few times but those giant divots she takes has gotta be tough on her body down the road.

That eagle was awesome, what a wedge into a blind green.

Great reaction from Lexi too, she is box-office.

I'm picking Leona Maguire

Opening 2 rounds were terrible re her putting with 32 and 33 putts, amongst her worst since she's been on the LPGA tour; you expect her to be under 30 putts. This included 3/3 sand saves (which is not her strength despite her putting prowess). The rest of her game looked fine.

I won't be surprised if she shoots one or two low rounds to finish if she gets her putter going (or simply 'normal service resumed').

Sung Hyun with a super -4 today to be -1 for the event.

Only 27 putts today - has she had such a good putting round since covid? For reference, she had 34 putts in R1 for a +3.

Great to see: #savesunghyun

Good thing In Gee's putt hit the cup or it would have run 15 ft past the cup. Crazy good.

Na Rin An is such a talent but needs to learn to temper her aggressive play to be a consistent performer on the LPGA tour.

She's still young but some never learn eg Charging Charley.

She not that young at 26. But she is still very talented. She had 2 wins on the KLPGA in 2020 where she really broke out and finished 4th on the money list. 2021 she had 0 wins and finished 9th. She caught some attention playing well at the BMW last year and parlayed that into winning Q school (her or Pauline won, can't remember off the top).

I'd say she's more like A Lim as a late breakout star  vs a prodigious talent like Hye Jin.
