Heck of an approach by In Gee on the 18th. Birdie would be sweet, but a stress free par for a 3 shot lead wouldn't be bad.

Funny antendote in Sei Young's presser, she is neighbors with In Gee. Even Minjee and Yealimi live in the same complex and they all play at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas together.

I live about 20 minutes from Congressional CC and I was there to watch Rory picked up his first major in 2011.  I got free ticket from my BIL to go see the LPGA yesterday and today.  I noticed that the crowd is so much smaller this week than the 2011 men USOpen.  I also noticed the quality of play between the women and men are so different, men are so much better.  I think I will play golf tomorrow instead of going to see the final round.

Smart play by In Gee. Don't really want to go back to the spot of the previous shot, but dropping in that area could be serious trouble. 

 

 

That was an excellent up and down to save double on 16.  She needed that badly.

LOL. Please explain how she fixes it. The LPGA is married to this new television contract until 2030. At best the LPGA is the 4th priority for Golf Channel when televising events. Where can she renegotiate more over the air television coverage and on what network? It's really easy to simply say the LPGA can simply renegotiate their existing television contracts. The reality is they can not with their current television partners.

What should I buy from the Congressional pro shop? I ask because I generally don’t collect souvenirs; meanwhile my apartment is barely decorated.

 

I wish I had collected scorecards from every course I’ve played, then I could have some gems like Pinehurst, Muirfield Village, and East Lake and display them in as wall art or something.

I hope Mollie "fixes it". The increased prize money is great, but if the product doesn't get out, it is unsustainable.

 

One thing about Mollie, regardless of how good she is behind the scenes, she speaks the most empty rhetoric of any public figure I've heard. Every time she speaks at a tournament I switch on because what she says has to be important - you'd think. But then when she finishes, I have no idea what she has just said!

In Gee Chun: Will she or won't she?! There are two questions. Whether she wins or not, and whether this will happen in our lifetimes. As adorable as she is, her pace of play is agonising.

 

But this is shaping up for a great finish. I am going for In Gee. If she does, she will have a ridiculous 3 major wins out of 4 LPGA wins. I mean, come on!! That's Brooks Koepka ad absurdum. So, I think I wouldn't mind seeing any of the others in contention win. I just hope for a good struggle, where the tournament is won with brilliance, not lost in a meltdown.

 

Despite two victories, I still don't think Kupcho has her mind right. She is not owed anything by anybody. Everybody struggles!

Hye Jin Choi has been lurking for a win with 2 3rd places and 4 other top 10 finishes so far this year.

 

It would be amazing if Sei Young Kim comes out of no where to win her 2nd major.

It's all about the setup today. If it's anything like yesterday, it may be hard to catch In Gee. She had a rough day, and yet still managed 3 over. With only two rounds in the 60s, the chasers are going to have to dig deep. Lexi and Sei Young are both excellent ballstrikers, so it'll once again come down to the putters.

It's been a very enjoyable tournament so far and as In Gee showed yesterday, despite the soft conditions things can still go wrong very quickly on this course.

 

I'm hoping she gets it done today but as with all majors, I just want some excitement down the stretch.

Congressional CC is not a difficult course at all.  Rory M shot a 16 under in 2011 USOpen at Congressional.  If the men plays on the same setup as the women at Congressional, RM would have shot at least -50 under.  That's why USGA will never go back to Congressional again for the men USOpen.

Easy call for me to root for In Gee today.  

 

Which is not to say that I'll be rooting against Hye-Jin, Lexi or anyone else.  If someone goes out and shoots a low number and earns it, great.

 

But as of right now nobody has earned it more than In Gee and I hope she closes the deal with a great Sunday.

Hmmm, how far back is too far back?  I’m guessing the winner will come from the last two groups.  I’ve always liked InGee, but watching her pull that yardage book out of her pocket numerous times on almost every shot was brutal.  Pick a club and hit the ball!

 

Ii can’t imagine watching this (or pretty much any sports event) live  with the ridiculous amount of commercials, but the ultimate frustration was the overtime switch to CNBC.  Who knew?  Thought I’d planned ahead with extra time recorded on NBC and Golf Channel.  🤬
