please, those drivers are 3, 4, 5+ years old. Within 6 months after release the stealth already had more evidence of damaged faces and complaints about durability than any of those. I'll acknowledge you bringing up TM's history of durability issues in their woods, and it's never been at the rate we've seen with the stealth.

 

At least their customer service is diligent in replacing those with issues.

i'll also point out that, like in this example, the damage can occur within any of the layers of the carbon face itself. makes it even harder to tell that the face is compromised (at least until the entire face breaks off)

The reports of layers of carbon being compromised without the user really knowing what is going on until the face comes off or is visibly cracked is somewhat concerning. But nonetheless, I'm torn between getting fit for a TSR3/4 or waiting for the Stealth 2.0 to come out to test against my OG Stealth. The fairway should be awesome if there is a sliding weight to move COG forward/backwards.

TM hasn't said anything about face durability of this version, but let's hope it doesn't have the same disappointing failure rates as the original stealth.

I still think this is more a perception than reality. I am sure there was and is breakage. But, I have talked to two local shops that never had a single head come back for face issues. I have hit a lot of drives and hit a lot of range balls with mine and zero issues. I think this is more because there have been a few of the same tails told repeatedly, and people think it is mass breakage. 

 

That is my perspective anyway..

There might be if it’s a smaller head, but good luck controlling it. My Nike 440cc vapor fly flex does and could probably still beat all these new clubs, but if it wasn’t a good striking day.......

I think it's been confirmed there is a sliding weight, at least in the 3 wood. I currently game the stealth+ 5 wood, and if it's true about the 3 then I, probably like you and many others, will look forward to testing it

Anecdotal, but I've broken 2. But, I also dented 3 SIM2 drivers in a season as well.

I’m not ignoring anything, simply seeing it how it is. You presented 5 samples of how many sales? Right…
 

Everyone is hyper focused on the stealth anyway, making any failure more visible.
 

I’ve cracked 2 SIM2s, but the shop I work at has 5 demo stealth heads that have all been beat to heck. With no failures. 
 

You just have no real evidence and present it as if it’s fact.

Your 5-6 pictures are not "evidence" of the Stealth being the "highest failing driver in TM's history".  You are "extrapolating" in your own words.  This is not "fact", and is just fallacy to make your argument sound better. 

 

If you really wanted to make a factual statement, then you would need exact failure rates for "x" amount of heads over "y" time-frame.  Then again, reading and the scientific method may not be your forté.

I really don't get what people are trying to accomplish with this.  TM sells more drivers than a majority of the other manufactures, so naturally you will see a higher number of failures.   What I haven't heard, is a single case where TM refused to replace the driver.  I haven't seen any TM drivers break this year, but I did see a Ping and Titliest driver crack,  so does that mean those guys make terrible equipment?  Nope!   I don't get why people can't just move on if TM isn't their thing.   Coming here tellign us there's been evidence of multiple Stealth failures is like tellign a smoker they're killign themselves....

5 pictures from the internet does not automatically make this the largest failure rate in TM history lol.  If you think that is "proof" that you are right, then you're either trolling or have an axe to grind or something.

5 pictures, countless more written accounts all across every golf forum, personal experience, IRL acquaintances experiencing likewise... all in less than one single season since release. I've never seen such a high rate of failure in such a short period, nor has anyone else. and it's not even close

Lol.  I love how you try to present it as indisputable fact.  Like the tour players getting all brand new clubs every tournament.  I think you're making assumptions and trying to pass it off as some sort of smoking gun.

Wow guys, let this go.  Every golf product has a number of failures.  I have not heard that Stealth has significantly more failures than any other brand.  I may be wrong.  In any case, this horse is dead.  Let it go.

I welcome your counters to my arguments. But I feel the same, I don't want people to dwell on my opinions any longer than needs to be. Believe it or not I'm very hopefully optimistic to test out Stealth 2.0.

I have a friend who is on the PGA Tour and is sponsored by Taylormade.  I texted him about this yesterday after reading all of this, and he said that he's never had a problem and hasn't heard about any more failures than normal.  I really think that, of course, there are failures, but it also depends on how you treat your driver, where you live(really what temp the clubs are kept in), etc...

TM customer service is very good in my experience.  I have guys that have mid 170 ball speed up to mid 190 and TM is quick to replace when the heads do fail.  This experience is not limited to TM heads only as other OEM's also fail regularly.  I just had a TSR4 replaced after a few of weeks of use.  

 

Actually it is almost better that the failure ocurrs within 2 years as the replacement is gratis.  Problem then is you get the latest model instead of the model that failed....  Still a better option than no replacement.

Wish the fairway woods in the stealth 2 plus had a draw/fade slider like the driver.  I would have really liked that.. front to back slider isn't much use to me.

You’re somewhere between a hunch and reasonable suspicion while speaking as though it’s beyond reasonable doubt. You have no data, you have semi-compelling anecdotes about a driver that was always going to be under a microscope, anecdotes countered by people with more data and experience than you. You don’t have the failure rate percentages needed to make an argument, you have an axe to grind, and TM has a solid track record of standing behind the failures that DO occur.
