Titleist bag leg droop- help!

Just bought a brand new 2022 Titleist players 4 bag. I love everything about it, with the exception of the legs!! When I pick the bag up, they droop down and it makes it annoying to carry for 18 holes. 

 

I’ve seen this issue on other forums before. Someone mentioned “hammering” the clip (between the legs that holds them together) up higher, but I’m afraid I’ll break something

 

Any ideas?

For what they cost if you did just get it and have the receipt, I’d return it and get something else.

I really want a vessel bag, but I can’t justify the price right now

I had two Hybrid 14 bags that had similar issues. I ended up going with the mini staff because I ride 100% of the time.

There might be a small bracket on the tension rods, that “spring” the legs back. It could be possible to slide it up and increase the tension, thus forcing the legs back to home position more appropriately.

The tension clip is there for that reason. It moves on every bag I've ever seen. It can also get out of position pretty easy since it does. Move the clip and play on.

 

BTW, move it when the legs ARE NOT extended.

I experienced something similar with my last Titleist bag.  Just return it.  That's what I did.

How exactly does this work?  Can you share a picture or video how it retracts and holds the legs in place?  I have this issue with a Ping Hoofer Tour

Return it and buy a PING.  I like Titleist gear, but their bags aren't the best.

There’s dozens of brands that you don’t have the the issue the Titleist bags do and cost half what vessel charges.

Just got a 2020-2021 TM FlexTech and its a great bag, compact but still roomy. I noticed the legs drooping as well but it was mainly due to my towel getting caught. Once I noticed and moved the towel back to the top grab handle the legs were back to normal.

 

Also the two piece bottom really helps with club tangle,

 

I recommend if you do end up returning the Titleist.

I ended up doing just this…bought a hoofer, and I love it! The quality is above and beyond the Titleist bags, in every aspect

I've had this issue with Titleist stand bags as well. Personally, I never wanted to risk breaking the tension clip because I've had that happen before(different brand albeit). Instead, I just took a small zip tie and set that above the clip. Works perfect and you can hardly notice it.

Today I took a look at my Titleist carry bag--the carbon version I believe. The tensioning clip for the legs is super easy to adjust. I took a rubber hammer and tapped it to slide it up the rails about 1/2". Boom, no more leg slap--the legs tucked up under the bag nice and tight.

So, I've identified the issue here. If you put the bag down on its side and push where your back would hit against the bag, the legs will fly open. Now do this on a Ping, and they stay still. I have a Linkmaster, which looks cool but the legs are an issue.

I have no idea how to fix this without stiffening the entire chassis of the bag as it's going to pop the legs out (drop them) as soon as you put the bag on. I've actually tried this as well. Just hold the bag up, no problem. Put it on and they drop.

Titleist should send me a new bag for pointing this out and then fix the issue on their new models.

as another poster mentioned, using several zip ties installed snugly above the existing OEM leg clip will make a difference.

 

used this method on both two bags recently. Titleist and TaylorMade.

carried the TM last weekend and the previous droop was not noticeable.

 

using ties in the bag or leg color - they visually blend in.

There's no issue. Just slide this plastic piece up. Linkmaster shown below.

Sliding the plastic piece up tightens the legs for a short time until the bars twist and the plastic piece unsnaps on its own.  Titleist really needs to address this issue.  Same problem with my son's Players Carbon 4 bag.  Where is the quality control?

You are sliding them too high then. Lower it until it doesn't pop off.

Yeah I have two Titleist bags and breakage just isn't an issue. If the legs get loose, just tap up that plastic piece. Use a rubber mallet or a regular hammer with a block of wood and be gentle. I do it about once a year or so. Works great.
