It will be released. Nothing surer.

That’s my guess as well… they wouldn’t brand it if they had no intentions of considering a release of some sort. Now if was just a blank slate prototype like when phil tested it last year still then I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Okay JW Tmag just re-released the 300 mini, so it’s time to answer with the 2+ Tour!

Can also get a PXG in a 2 wood. That's what I play as my "3 wood" turned down to 11.5 degrees.

Yeah, but the PXG is pretty much the same as the TSR2+. A real mini driver should be at least 250cc’s and have a little more face than what you will get with the PXG 2 wood.

Currently gaming a Taylormade Mini 11.5 turned down to 9.5 at 45.5 inches. Never hit a driver better in my life. This is a super interesting product since no one makes small drivers these days.

I worked with a guy who did that as well as a test and he said it spun less than the SIM he had.  Thing was duurrttyy.  But back in track, from a fitting standpoint, I don't really buy the "heads are too big" argument.  I haven't seen a player once I get them in the proper length, loft, and shaft combo still have a model that was unhittable for them.  It just might take a little more time but you can get there.

I've been to two different fittings to try to have someone beat it for me and no one can. It's weird, its swing weight is E7 and my swing speed is easily right around 110mph with it. Everything I tried couldn't swing more than 105, TSR, G425LST, Triple Diamond, nothing was better. Both of the fitters were completely stumped.

Almost bet money on it that the swingweight is what you need.  For whatever reason that meshes with your delivery.  As an experiment you should buy a junker set of irons and have them built to that as well (even if you need to go a bit longer and super heavy shafts with the GolfPride 25 grips that are super lightweight) and see if it helps.  I accidentally stumbled upon similar findings, that I hit clubs in D6 range significantly better than I do other ones.  Now that is nothing compared to yours, but it is noticeably heavier than many stock sets.

We'll find out.  We haven't been since 2020, so we'll see who shows up.  Last year no one went because of the downturn in the economy and more Covid.  Callaway used to take up a massive footprint of space.  I hope many of them do come back though.

Nope, that show is a complete joke and waste of time now.

Once they lost the big OEMs it was a matter of time. COVID put the nail in the coffin.

Its the case with almost every industry 'conference', though. They're just glorified parties/vacations used to waste company money at this point.

With Phil out of the so called limelight, what staffer would be willing to put it to use? My BB Mini is still as good as anything that’s been out against it. If I carried 2 fairways, it would still be in the bag for sure. Beast off the tee!

Someone will have it in the bag, most likely as a specialty club but you’ll see them I willing to bet. IMO the BB Mini 1.5 was a horrible attempt at the mini driver market. The Original One and 300 were way better. Not to mention a re-release of the 300 mini just hit. Taylormade has never had an issue selling them.

What makes you say the BB Mini was a horrible attempt? I own a 300 as well but will take the BB over it. I tried selling my 300 course and couldn’t give it away. It’s tucked away in the extras now. Sorry, but for me, the BB was an awesome stick. YMMV apparently, they but that’s understandable with clubs. Glad you liked the TMs.

I look at the mini 1.5 more as a  3 wood replacement more like the TSR2+ than a driver replacement. Those two are pretty much the same size as well.  The original one and 300 are much better in the driver replacement category. You have more volume with a larger face.

Yeah, I have always replaced my 3 metal with a mini driver.  Best of both worlds if you are able to hit it off the deck.

Then if that’s what you’re doing then something like the TSR2+ or mini 1.5 would fit the bill. If I carry a mini driver I want it to replace the driver and then carry a 4 wood or 5 wood behind that. Taylormade has it right with the design of the original one and 300 mini. They are a true driver replacement vs a 3 wood replacement.

I have never thought of them as a driver replacement either.  I always used me 300 mini and something that was a little more accurate than my driver and only about 20 or so yards shorter.  So a super tight hole where I cannot give up a ton of distance, I reached for the 300 mini.

I do not think the 300 mini is any more forgiving than a traditional 3 wood, personally.  So regardless of size, if it goes slightly shorter than my driver and is a little more accurate, I would classify it as a mini driver.

I could probably accomplish the exact same distance/forgiveness combo by turning down a SIM rocket 3 wood to 12 degrees.

I thought the Original One was pretty forgiving and the 300 even more so. I always went with the lower lofted ones minus a degree in loft and yeah, it was shorter than my SIM 2 but not by much. I would say if not for the spin being higher with the mini I would probably hit it just as far. I use them as a driver replacement and usually go with a 4 wood or a 3hl seeing that’s what people call a 4 wood these days.
