Theres no what I guess we would call traditional jailbreak in the Rogue ST fairway woods. its jailbreak 'ST' and it's those bat-wing things on each side of the face and not the bars in the middle. Same with the hybrids.

 

This confirming list head may have some marketing buzzwords left off of it that will be in the retail model which explain the tech.

OG Epic line was the first drivers with JailBreak, and that was 2017.

My guess is that this mini driver will have similar tech (ie not the traditional jailbreak bars) to the Rogue ST fairway woods.

It may still have it internally.  From what I can tell, the markings on the bottom of the clubs is just essentially an aesthetic addition to highlight it.  Especially with the newest iteration.  It all seems to be internally mounted.  I could be wrong.  But, the shape of the markings doesn't really align with the mounting piece inside.

Entirely player dependent in its application; how does the player tend to use the first club below their traditional driver? How good are they at hitting that club off the ground and tee?

Maybe the player struggles with the size of modern drivers and wants something smaller? There are some seriously talented Mid-Am players around the country that fall into that category.

Usage can vary, but a lot of people play this in addition to the driver. Will have a shorter shaft, but much larger head than a 3 wood so way easier to hit off the tee. It would take the place of a 3 wood for players that do not hit 3w off the deck much. Next club be a 5W or Callaway UW at 17* to skip woods altogether.

 

The other option is as a driver replacement. This isnt as common in the top levels of golf, but some people just cannot hit a driver. Maybe fighting a hook or just no consistency. Shaft length is too much in alot of modern gear, and shortening is a bit of a fitting issue if you are not familiar with adding weights and dialing in swing weight. Sometimes just easier to grab something off the shelf that you can hit nearly as far but way more consistently. 

 

Usually you see loft options in these clubs like 11 or 14 which gives some indication if you are trying to replace driver or 3 wood.

Big Bertha Mini was 215cc’s. In my opinion the Bertha Mini 1.5 was a horrible attempt by Callaway in the Mini Driver market. This new Mini needs to be at least 250-275cc’s. Fingers crossed this can rival what Taylormade has done with mini drivers.

Callaway should have released the Phrankenwood prototype Phil played back in the day over the Bertha Mini 1.5.
