Match play brings out different strengths in different people.  Personally, I love the format.

 

Team play vs more cash also appeals to some and not others.

 

And some days your game just shows up, and sometimes you're the hydrant (to mix metaphors just a little....)

Fantastic fightback from Europe. She may be slower than a week in jail but Ciganda has been immense. 

 

Can't quite believe it's 8-8 after that first session. Could even have been ahead but Hedwall seemed to hit a wall on the back 9. The singles will be engrossing.

Turned out very different from expectations - Korda disappointing, Lexi pretty good. Hall disappointing, Pedersen pretty good.

 

Impossible to call the singles.

US lucky to be tied heading into singles. Least likely pair wins the point. Yin really stepped up with monster drives and clutch putting on the back to steal a point.

My takes from the afternoon sessions, DK's putter was a beast, Leona was fantastic, EKP owned up to her captains pick, Hedwall played pretty well as usual, the Nelly/Ally pairing was very disappointing.

The LPGA's golden girls Rose and Nelly really need to come through tomorrow.

 

Get some sleep folks, it should be an exciting one tomorrow!!

The first three matches look interesting (recent form, playing style personality), not sure about any of the others.

 

I don't really care who wins, but hopefully it will come down to the last few matches (best if these are tied vs. one side trying to hold on).  Maybe it's too much to ask if for all 12 matches to go to the 18th tee tied?
