He’s been very finicky about his ball so I’d bet you’re right. 
 

Funny thing is he joined Taylormade saying the lower spinning ball was a key reason. He said the pro v1x was too spinny

Rory tends to get a little steep and across the line at the top, I think if he fixed that he would be much more consistent. With the speed he generates and natural draw shape, it would tone down any curve.

the whole team TM didnt switch to the Sim2 aside from Rory. isnt that a bigger story than Rory complaining that he cant hit his old too hot driver now? is his contract different than the other staffers that he has to play the newest shiny toy? DJ Colin Wolff Tiger didnt put it in play much at all, maybe Fleetwood played it if he was part of team TM at that point?

He's struggled with comfort with the TM ball since he started using it almost.  A switch to Titleist or even Bridgestone wouldn't surprise me.

I am thinking that it might be Bridgestone given his friendships with Tiger and Jason Day, both Bridgestone users and I would think it would be easier for TM to let Rory flirt with the Bridgestone ball versus the Titleist ball.  The Titleist ball would open up the whole question of other equipment, while with Bridgestone the only question would revolve around the ball instead.

That CCC IG page was literally the only place online "reporting" big changes, so take it with a grain of salt. 

Rory has also more wins with TM clubs than any other brand so I find it highly unlikely that he's moving on from them.

Because you just spent how many millions developing this new driver that is in stores for the low low price of a monthly mortgage payment, and (true or not) the way you move these products is have the best players playing them, so you are paying these guys how much to sell this new product you sunk all this money into.  A guy playing a Sim doesn't sell your new club, and if the Sim is being sold, it's likely at a discount so you're not getting much in the way of margin.
