In the big picture, if both play the Solheim then I will view this same way I view Tiger or Phil skipping the Presidents Cup.  You can over play the patriotism card, like 2 team events in a season, sometimes it's too much and it's up to the B-Team to do their part.

 

To be fair "Charles" and "George" sat down for one of those international Crown pre-interviews not too long ago. Maybe women's golfers just tend to handle these things clumsily. Didn't Lexi withdraw from The Open for mental health, but knew she'd be ready to go at the Indy event for a title defense.

Really enjoyed the team interviews. Most tournaments they might interview 4 or 5 players (defending champ, last weeks winner, lydia, nelly, lexi). This week your hear from 32.

Don't know what's more surprising, the way this was handled, or the fact that England has only 4 players in the top 150 in the world. Even Bronte has fallen outside the top 100. Thought England was a big golfing nation.

We will be walking down to Harding Park around 10am, hoping to catch some putting practice or range time.  Then early lunch so we can enjoy the first tee box as the groups get introduced.  Weather currently is cloudy, a little ominous, but I don't think we will see much rain.  Just overcast/cloudy and in the mid 50s.

The phrase “kodawari” ( こだわり in Japanese) came to mind...

perhaps I’m reading too much wrt the wonky backdrops...

or perhaps a perfectionist Japanese photographer sub-consciously put more effort into the Japan team photo, even if these small details are imperceptible/ not meaningful to most folks?

 

Albeit “kodawari” from my understanding isn’t 100% positive...

ie +’s and -‘s wrt possible OCD/ non-urgency, in pursuit of perfection
