The highest ranked players from each country at this year's Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown 👀 U.S. - Nelly Korda (2)??????

Wassup with the (2)?

It was her (Nelly) ranking on April 3rd when qualifications closed. Nelly regained the #1 ranking after the cutoff when she took back the number #1 ranking after the Chevron.

The final country seedings and qualified players for the International Crown were confirmed via the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as of April 3, 2023, immediately following the DIO Implant LA Open.

Looking forward to the tournament. But it looks like there won't be any coverage from the semi finals on Sunday morning.  😒

Appears there will be a stream on Peacock Sunday morning for the semi-finals. Per GC.

Eight countries, represented by 32 players, will compete Thursday-Sunday at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California. Golf Channel will air live coverage of all four days of the competition, from 6-9 p.m. ET. There will be a special Peacock window for Sunday's semifinals (stream times TBD).

Any prizemoney for this event?

The winning team gets $400k, which means $100k for each player. It seems small, but may be we have seen ridiculous amount on money on LIV and the PGA and this significant amount of money looks paltry in comparison. Lilia and Nelly will lead the US for a win.

Seems like the purse is approx $2MM in total.  A decent reward to play if you're qualified but as others pointed out, definitely loses a bit of "strength of field" due to weaker countries that can't field anything.

In some way, the team aspect is  like the NCAA Regionals where there's one or two strong individuals from schools but no more than that so these players have no "team" to play the event.  The difference is that in NCAA, you can still play as an individual.

Between this vs Wells Fargo (PGA), the LPGA will be "hard pressed" to attract viewership but at least there's a different twist here -- I, for one, am interested in the top teams and how they fare: Japan, South Korea,  Sweden, US in particular.

Australia to me is interesting - they have a Minjee and Hannah Green (hey, both are from Perth!) that have "the stripes on their shoulders".  But in a team event, both may uplift Steph and Sarah with their games.  Kemp is a veteran anyway.

Even though NZ has no representation I will still be following this. The US has to be favorites to win but I don't see it being a whitewash of results. Some good matchups should make it exciting to watch. For the Japanese players this clashes with their first Major of the year the JLPGA World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup. There is also the men's Wells Fargo Championship to compete with.

We'll either see some 5&4s, 7&6s or they'll be in contention for the win.

Is this Nelly's 1st international match play without Jess? I'm interested in seeing these USA team dynamics.

If Asia teams sweep the top spots do we get an Asia-Pacific major (in a non-womens 3 letter league world)?

It always seems to be about team dynamics with the Americans! They should win more Solheim and Ryder with the talent they have.

I really love team events for some reason, to play in as well, but especially international - so have a real buzz for this one. I think the venue helps too. I am sticking with Korea as my tip, but wouldn't be surprised by USA, Japan or even China taking it. England and Australia are least likely I would say.

If Charley and Georgia had pulled out a couple weeks ago this would be fine or at least better, I'm comfortable saying both knew they didn't wanna play and probably didn't wanna answer questions at every event leading in.  So, IMO handled very badly by both, who shoulda known better.

In the big picture, if both play the Solheim then I will view this same way I view Tiger or Phil skipping the Presidents Cup.  You can over play the patriotism card, like 2 team events in a season, sometimes it's too much and it's up to the B-Team to do their part.
