Speaking of, it has been funny watching players, caddies, and score board holders having no idea what scores are.  When Sweden beat England on hole 14, everyone stood around looking at each other not sure of the score.  The official scorer walking with the group announced it wrong.  Those of us in the small crowd had to correct him.  Then players were like “did we win?  Are we playing 15?”

 

on hole 7, where we watched all groups come through, the wrong scores got announced three times.  One scorer called it out before the fourth player even putted.  
 

and none of the digital scoreboards showed scores, just advertising. 

 

I had saw this earlier and was wondering (14 looked like 18).  Understand the situation now...

Maybe there's something to the pod system. The last 2 Solheim's I thought the US should pair DK and Lexi together 1st match and let them set the tone and the course on fire.

The phrase “kodawari” ( こだわり in Japanese) came to mind...

perhaps I’m reading too much wrt the wonky backdrops...

or perhaps a perfectionist Japanese photographer sub-consciously put more effort into the Japan team photo, even if these small details are imperceptible/ not meaningful to most folks?

 

Albeit “kodawari” from my understanding isn’t 100% positive...

ie +’s and -‘s wrt possible OCD/ non-urgency, in pursuit of perfection

I was having lunch yesterday in a pub, and they had a sports show on the TV above the bar. The topic was the MMA. One of the questions asked was, "What non-MMA athlete would you not want to go up against in the octagon?" The guest replied Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams.

I think she started a curse. lol   Danielle won the tournament of Champions in 2022 and the proceeded to fall off a cliff.  Brooke won in 2023 and so far afterwards has fallen of a cliff.   lol

If you haven’t seen it yet, pay attention to Maya Stark’s practice swing.  I was about ten feet from her as she did a practice swing for a 7 iron approach shot.  300mph swing.  I apparently let out a “holy hell that is fast” and the guy next to me whispers “I think I slipped a disc just watching that.” 
 

And the two English gals that came in as replacements were getting a lot of support.  We were at 14 green when the match ended and you could tell they were a bit rundown after losing 5 and 4.  Our small crowd gave them cheers and thanks for coming, we appreciate you being here etc.  For all I know these gals flew over on Monday.  Unless they happened to live in the states.

It was tough to watch Danielle and Lexi, Lexi played okay but not well enough to carry the team.  Danielle, obviously, was in a dark, dark place.

 

Hope she works it out on the range.  Her ball striking is usually so consistent.

You would think that the matches would be on the LPGA website. Click on the 'Pairings' link and get an error. 

 

Wanted to know about the routing given that #18 is being played as the 14th, so I click on the 'Course Map' link and get an error. 

 

Sheesh. There are days when the tour seems to want to shoo away the fans. Time to hire a new intern.

great tourney so far

i have not followed the live coverage and just finished day one highlights, pretty cool

 

if i was to change someting i think id cut the teams in half and have twice as many countries represented of 2 players each

where is germany, spain, france, canada? still great tourney and the location is excellent.... they should;ve made the chevron either here or the LA club of last week, whilshire?

Harding Park hosts the occasional professional tournament, but I just don't see them willing to close the course down for a couple of weeks every April.

Yes DK had a bad day, but expect her to turn around, she can always putt.  Lexi Thompson in my opinion should not be out there, she cannot putt....like at all!!  She wasn't all that accurate around the course either, she didn't do much to help out her struggling partner.  There are other US players that are playing better, can play better, and can putt that would have served the US team better for sure!!  

 

Ally Ewing for one would eat Lexi for lunch these days!  I know rankings and all that BS, I don't know how Lexi has stayed as high for so long without doing anything, she stinks nowadays IMO.
