Is Charley Hull playing? Didn't see Charley's name in the Tournament Entries page ... but there is a placeholder section shown as "Holding Spaces" (e.g. includes Lexi Thompson, Celine Herbin, Hayley Davis).

Just curious, why are top name players interested in playing for a one million purse?  But they won't go play some beater LPGA tournament (for a million and change)?  There is scheduling (and whether it fits with whatever other events one is targeting) but is there something else?  First date for the Women's L-I-V tour?

Different course.   There are 3 Trump courses in FL... Jupiter, Miami (Doral), and Palm Beach the host of this tournament.

No, the minimum purse for LPGA this year is $1.50 million and will move to $2.00 million in the next 2-3 years.

This is an LET (Ladies European Tour) tournament. And I'm excited.  As I'm heading to Gulfstream Park for a Friday race, I may try to stop by. Welcome Linn!

Trump International in West Palm hosted the LPGA’s end of season event, the ADT Championship for about 8 years in the early 2000s. It was at that event, 2006 (?) that the winner, Julietta Granada, got $1,000,000 - first time in women’s golf.  During the week of the tournament there was a clear box on display with a million dollars in it.  A big feature of the course is a huge fake waterfall - 🙄

Well, it is an off week for the LPGA. The match play is next week. Short flight from Jersey to Florida. I assume a number of the top players will skip the match play event next week, and head back up to Jersey for the Mizuho the following week.

Guess I will have to put my money where my mouth is this week where Linn is concerned.... She won last week and hope she goes well. Will take time to adjust I'm sure but with that much talent it shouldn't take long.

I put Grant + Maja Stark on the same wavelength and the latter has adapted nicely so far! 

 

There is some good talent on the LET btwn Grant, Babnik, Noja but if Linn isn't going to play lpga this year, id rather see her get more reps on the KLPGA against better overall comp.

We've seen a few girls come from dominating on the LET to barely keeping their cards on the LPGA. Every year I'm convinced there's gonna be a European player who is new to the LPGA and is going to become a steady top 25 player, yet every year it doesn't happen lol. I'm a fan, and wish her well also.

I think Linn is a class above Maja, although time will tell obviously. Just cannot ignore the scandi mixed last year and what an amazing achievement that was. Not only for Linn but for women's golf across the board.  I really think she will raise the bar, there are no weaknesses that I can see in her game. Plus she looks right and I'm sure Adidas will market the hell out of her. But that's still all good for the exposure of the women's game.
