Just played the first round with my MG4s and two words sum it up: soft & spin

These feel amazing. Have the S400 TI shaft in all of them and it’s a deadly combo. Launch way better than the Mg3 (I usually hit those extremely high compared to SM8). Feel even better than my old Glide Stealth 2.0s

they spin as advertised. I was hitting one hop and stops with relative ease on the 56TW and 60LBV.

Only caveat - the 60LBV definitely feels like it plays more bounce than 7*. Hit a few out of some thick, wet rough (rained all weekend in MD) greenside and had zero issues. On tight lies I had no digging.

these wedges are the real deal !!

Looking forward to mine. My club guy said my order (54.11 SB & 58.11 SB w/ MMT 105 S built exactly like the MG3s I've been playing for the last year) got to him today. He still has to swingweight them for me, but I'm willing to be patient if I can get them exactly like my MG3s.

I'm a big Titleist guy and believe me, I've been trying to get into some Vokeys that I love, but I've tried multiple grinds and lofts and unless it's a full wedge, I just can't feel them. I tried the MG3s on a whim last year because I could get the MMT at an affordable price with TM and I was blown away at A) how great they felt, B) how great they looked at address, and C) the performance was showing in my scores and overall short game. I'm not a short game guru, but I legitimately had 6 consecutive rounds last summer with a chip/pitch in and I'd say without knowing for sure, I have one every 3-4 rounds now. Had one yesterday. Can't explain it, they just work. And I keep hearing how these are going to be better, so I'm fairly excited.

Idk how TM did it, but they made the MG3 just a little bit better in every single aspect. I also was a Vokey fanatic until I gave the MG3s a try

Saw these in person today and they look great. The thicker muscle shaping adds to that.

Looking for a couple new wedges to pair with my new irons so I think I’ll order the TW grind. Really like how they look at address and I was a fan of the MG3 I demo’d for a month this year.

How’d the 56* bent 1* strong work out for you? Any digging? I’m thinking of doing the same thing.

I think the shaft did more wonders for me than the 1* adjustment honestly

Either way, the 56 TW plays great - no digging, easy to open up, pitch, and short little chips are fun. Probably didn’t even need my 60 yesterday because it’s so versatile. I haven’t taken a ton of time to see how much different the shape and leading edge is compared to the MG3

Which shaft are you playing? I’m thinking of ordering with the DG S400 Tour Issue. The stock 115 seems a little light.

Just got my 50* and 54*, both SB (coming from the original Zipcores)

Same shaft as my old wedges, S400, the MG4 seem to be flying lower and not going as far. Could be me, maybe just need to get more comfortable with them.

It's weird wiping off the face with a towel and even the towel gets shredded and snagged from the rough face. I absolutely MUTILATED a Prov1 in 9 holes. The ball immediately went into the range bag.

They definitely feel more "solid" than my Zipcores. Feels like theres more meat behind the ball when taking a full swing. So far, I am pretty happy but my wallet wont be, having to buy A LOT more golf balls for a bit...

Got mine yesterday. No runs, no hits, no errors. Amazingly, my ProV1X was not dinged by the wedge, nor mutilated. Maybe my new wedge is defective? And my towel survived, too 😇

I am in heaven with MG4 TW Grind 56/60 after a short practice at my home course's practice green. I can only say that SM9 54S and 58M have no business to stick around me after I picked up the MG4s today.

Well I was slow and the 56 head is showing Jan 2024 availability while the 60 is still Sept 15, 2023.

I think I will just wait until later to get new wedges as I got a couple SM9 from my club's demo sale.

Wedges are expensive now! The 2 MG4s would run me around $600 CAD after taxes...

I don't know what to tell ya, man. I even provided proof and others have agreed. Parts of the cover of the ball are raised and now that I've had them over a week, I'm definitely going thru balls a lot quicker.

Are you just a fanboy that can't say a single bad thing about TaylorMade? I'm just stating actual facts here.

@Brooks_Cupcake I saw you back there...What about you? You seeing shredded balls as well?

No, just stating facts, too. Maybe you should send them back and ask for a refund, as the balls are being mutilated ? Or tell Titleist their golf balls aren't up to par...it's tough all over for the OEMs who make sub-par stuff...the three tenors tenor GIF

Did you have a chance to test them against the MG3 TW ?

I will compare it this Saturday. The S400 shafts will be replacing the S200s. 2nd Swing messed up with my original order for DG 115 Wedge. I wanted to see how it performs before swapping with the S400s.

Tour player must be in my camp cause I see a lot of TM and Callaway staffers using Vokey ….

That’s true, a lot of other company’s staffers use Vokey’s… and the first thing they do is ask the Titleist truck boys to grind a straight leading edge into there gap and sand wedge.

For me the 56 TW is pure perfection if you are playing at a well taken care of club.  It is the perfect wedge.

The 60 is a little too much IMO as I prefer the classic HiToe.

Played my first round with them today and I don’t know what I think. 50sb, 56 & 60 in the TW. Spin on full shot was great. Spin on short ones wasn’t anything special. Kinda feels like there is a lot going on with the grooves on bottom and micro grooves on face.

The tests I’ve seen haven’t shown the highest spin but do show consistent spin, and consistent in different conditions I think is the potential advantage.

These are everything I’ve hoped for. I’ve chipped in twice with the HB 56* and hit low instant stop pitch shots that I’ve never hit before. Seriously thinking about a higher bounce 60* and a gap wedge to add!! Well done TM

Been...3 weeks now? Probably 72 holes or so on the wedges, using mostly the 54 degree.

The microgrooves or whatever we are calling them are wearing down and becoming smooth. I'm not seeing any difference in flight, spin, distance etc but we will see over time. I'm concerned that spin numbers will come down.

Incoming roast due to speaking bad about the wedges...
