Who has a toy/weekend car?

I’m a 50 year old child and love hot hatches. Anyone else like playing with toy cars?  Let’s see’em. Here’s my 2014 Fiesta ST.

I wish the used car market and car market in general is more insane than the golf market. I always wanted something older and set up for driving but the asking price is not worth it. 

 

Enjoy that, not many hot hatches left in the NA market.

We have two that are mainly garage Queens and come out on good weather days only.

Our version of the summer convertible.  Stays in the garage until the weather gets nice and the top/ doors come off.

I have a 65 mustang that me and my dad got back in 1998 and restored over a decade or more. Blew a head gasket a while back and haven't had a chance to tear it down yet, need to get on it. Built 302, built c4, limited slip rear, all updated suspension. Not a nut or bolt on it that wasn't refreshed or replaced.

It's my daily driver but i suppose trails , snowy forests and etc counts as a toy. 

 

I'm debating buying a track car that can double as a winter car, like a GLA43 AMG for example. But realistically i like the trails more than the track

As you can imagine, i go from 6 to midnight thinking about the next gen Lexus GX.

My daily is a lifted 2014 Xterra Pro-4x, the trails are tons of fun. One of my other hobbies is mountain biking and it's the perfect trail head platform for that too.

Once I can get my kids out of the house if that ever happens.  First thing I do is buy myself a Ducati 🙂

My 97 f350 crew cab 4x4 has been regulated to special occasions and maybe a Sunday drive. Trucks worth too much money to drive much.

I loved the Xterra, almost bought one at one time. My last truck was a Rav4 TRD with some exterior mods. Mostly just tires and some protective caging in front and under. 

 

In a few years , if all goes well i want to get the new Lexus GX Overtrail

Very nice car. The coupes are very much under appreciated. Nice to see one preserved and restored.

I appreciate it. The goal was to keep it original as far as appearance but with more goodies and go. It's got a/c, power steering, upgraded brakes, serpentine belt conversion and lots of go fast goodies.

It's a great looking car. I like the formula of original looking with upgrades to power and a little comfort from A/C. I'm sure it's a blast to drive.

I have a 2014 Porsche Cayman S and a 2021 Bronco.  Depending on the day, they alternate between my daily driver, my toy or my weekend car lol  Pretty much drive them 50/50 but I much prefer driving Cayman so that gets more of the work commute (I have a short commute).

 

The Cayman gets light track duty, longer drives to golf courses on the weekend, etc.  The Bronco gets light off road duty, driven on weekends when the top is off, and is a road trip car when we go to national parks.  Both are dual purpose as grocery getters lol

 

Wife's car is the road trip car when not heading somewhere which may take us off pavement (Macan Turbo)

 

No need for boring cars.

yes. not a toy, not a weekender, but a lifetime of memories. the original owner of a 1993 Ford BRONCO XLT. maybe, maybe, driven 500 miles a year. that's been for so many years now I can't remember. but I still do one 10w-30 & FL-1A oil change in the garage every spring...

yes, it's absurd, I myself would never spend that kinda money on one. the 1966-1996 are about the most uncomfortable riding, impractical vehicles known to man.

 

EDIT: but I know one thing about these newest ones... if it's got 4 doors, it ain't a BRONCO.

May be uncomfortable and impractical, but they do what they were designed for. Get you anywhere you need to go in any conditions. Now enjoying a cult like following. Consider it as your 401k.
