Oh my gawd.  That is gorgeous.  I have tried and failed many times over with insert putters.  Which has kind of killed my ability to try some really good head designs.  This thing is amazing. I loved the Spider X but just couldn't get along with the insert.

What I don't get is the face is connected to the hosel, so to swap the face you are swapping the grip/shaft as well. 

 

Screws look like the remove the back piece if they are not there for decorative/weighting purposes.

Wonder if the screws will even be there in the final product, it is a prototype so who knows. Would love a 1 piece design and it be a partially milled spider.

Can anyone tell if the plumbers neck is the same size as the standard one they offer on the spider or if its a mini one?

I have a spider x with a plumbers neck and it looks the exact same to me. The neck are a little shorter on the tour issued spiders.

I dont think its intended this way. If I had to guess the face is stainless for feel, and the body is probably aluminum to keep it from being too heavy.

This is sick. I keep leaving the Spider X because of the insert. Right when I think I have a grasp of the speed, nope. I’ve been dying for a milled Spider X. I think it can do just as good as the OG Spider X. People loved the shape of it.

It looks like it may just be modified to suit his needs of having more weight forward to allow for the feel of a blade. The balance is going to more suited to what he’s used to instead of a lot more mass deep in the head.

I don't think the point is to change faces, but rather to change the back part. Change sight lines, colors etc.

I'd buy this for sure.

 

I went from a Spider Tour to a Phantom X7 just because I wanted a Titleist "set" (now play a mixed bag anyway), but I remember not liking the feel of the spider too much.

I love the Scotty for the feel, but the shape/weight or something about the Spider worked for my stroke. 

 

So maybe this would be the perfect blend? I'd definitely try it!

Love the idea of this, basically a milled blade and the back piece is all plastic. I'm guessing the heel/toe screws are tungsten. I much prefer the balance of heel/toe weight instead of it being back in the head.

If this putter was available in the same finish but without the face screws it would likely be in my bag.  It is like a cross of my Scotty Newport 2.5 and Spider so would stop me switching between the two!!
