if we assume a "proper" draw and "proper" fades are mirror images just by shifting the path and face to create both, why do we think:

 

1) the draw is more erratic with the two way miss

 

2) why is it easier to create the leftward path and face open to path for the fade?

I love the fade!!!!  It's become my shot shape for nearly all clubs.  Since I'm a natural slicer of the ball, I've learned to dial it back to where it's a gentle fade most of the time.  In my experience, fades tend to not go as much "out of control" on mishits.  On the contrast, draws can turn into out of control hooks that just run deeper into the trouble.

This described my game perfectly. Rarely do I hit a small draw, but if I need to hook it 30 yards, it's really easy to do.

I've been hitting draws forever without a choice lol.  I see any course I play from right to left.  Fade is probably better for long hitters, but draws you get along with them in the end.

For me, it's the draw, which incidentally is what I hit. But that's mostly that I play on munis and when I'm paired with rando high-caps (as opposed to my usual high-cap group) who all play weak wipey fades/slices, they're super-impressed at anyone who can hit a draw. 

 

I mean, it's not much, but FFS, it's about all I got. 😉

I could care less with any club off the ground. 

 

However, with driver, definitely give me the fade! For me, due to better club delivery, I get 5mph more speed and better launch conditions. It goes 15-20 yards farther than the draw (that is not a typo)!

Dead straight, if that's not an option, doesn't matter.  With the ability we have to fit clubs now, draw or fade makes no difference as long as you are fit properly.  If your driver is fit for a fade then it will go just as far as if it's fit for a draw.

Draw, but only if it never turns into a hook. I've tried to hit the fade especially off the tee but I find I can't wrap my mind around it. Shaping it left to right doesn't fit my eye, so if I could hit every shot with a baby draw I'd be happy

Fade all day, and I am a draw guy. Fades are easier to control going into greens, and overall IMO.  I have tried over the years to play a fade as my natural shot, but haven't found a feel to make it stick.
