5 Wood recommendations

Looking for a 5 wood suggestion that is not draw bias nor low spin with some forgiveness. Will be putting a diamana zf  shaft in it.  Thanks.

Just ordered TSR2, taking forgiveness over the stealth2+ which was a rocket when hitting it on the screws. That said, I hit the TSr2 more consistently.

I just put Callaway Epic Flash. In the bag and couldn't be happier.

Forgiving, great feel and the Callaway hosel adjustments make it perfect for me.

I've gotten along with Taylormade woods.  Stealth 2 is great, not draw biased - just need to go to a big box store where you can look at several and grab one that sits square.  The Stealth 2+ is low spin, but that is still an option since you can adjust the spin with the movable weight.

 

Titleist TSR2 is an option as well.  Cobra fairway woods have come a long way too, Aerojet is the standard model - neutral all the way around.

Lot of people here love the Tour edge FWs. Never tried them myself, but their pre-owned and Callaway CPO are less expensive ways to give it a run.

UW is too low spin. The stealth 2 plus sits closed to my eye. Not a fan of ping fairways so tsr2 seems like the choice.

The Titleist TSR3 5 wood may surprise you as it is more forgiving and higher launching than the previous model so loads of players who played the TSI2 have been fitted into the TSR3, it is definitely not overly low spin either compared to some other 5 woods.

The LTDx standard model should fit the bill. I have the 3, not the 5, but I've heard good things in the forums.

 

FWIW I'm still using the F8 5-wood and that thing might never leave the bag.

I second the LTDx fairways. I have the 3 and 5 wood and both are fantastic. great looks, sound/feel and very hot. I used to have a lot of trouble hitting fairways off the deck and opted for lower lofted hybrids, but these I seem to have no problem with. Plus you can find these in good condition for 130$-150$ which is a steal imo.

Love the Ping fairway woods, never hit a fairway wood as well.  They sit very flat and square.  The 5 wood is so good, I find myself never going for the  3 wood...worth a test.

I'm not great off the deck with a 3-wood, but my first two attempts with the LTDx I was batting last in a scramble with no balls on and hit the green both times from 250+

I enjoy my Pxg Gen 6 0311. Can flight it up and down, interchanged weights, neither small or large, right in the middle in terms of size.

TSR2 is literally a point & shoot. Weight/sleeve adjustability is a plus also

The original Taylormade Sim Max 5 wood has been great to me.  Consistent, easy to launch, and the slightly taller face makes it pretty versatile off the tee or deck.   Plus they can be found for pretty cheap these days.  

 

IMO there's not much of a reason to get the 'latest and greatest' for 3/5 woods.

Another vote for TSR2.

 

Ball speed is down from Stealth+ fairways, but more forgiving all over the face. Tradeoff is more spin, so if you hit it bad expect shots the fly high and short.

Late to the party, but I'll advocate for the Cobra F8 or any of the Cobra FWs with a rail system.

 

One of the best clubs I've ever used.  Only downside that I saw was that it had a super high flight. 

 

Great for holding greens and easy to hit off the deck!

Also curious on this topic.  Has anyone directly compared the G430 vs. TSR2?  Looking mainly for a forgiving option from the fairway.  Love the look of the TSR3 with benefit of additional adjustability but concerned on its forgiveness.
