Putter grips cleaning

What are the best ways to clean putters grips. I have a split grip in white and want to keep it that way

Solid rubber use a wet rag and then some windex. 

 

Anything else just a wet rag maybe with a drop of high quality dish soap. Just make sure to get the soap off. 

 

Nothing you can really do to avoid staining and wear on grips especially white one.

Been just using Dawn and warm soapy water for mine.

Nothing crazy.

I normally use Dawn and warm water and scrub the grip with a toothbrush. Rinse well and dry with a towel. 

 

I'll use Wesley's Bleach White to brighten up dirty grips twice a year.

Gojo, then rinse. Nothing better.

For rubber grips...including regular iron grips, I use a spray on tire cleaner. Not the foam. 

 

Spray...use a green sctochbrite or sponge. Rinse. 

 

It works really well.

I would use a mild detergent and a horsehair detail brush to lightly agitate the grip surface and loosen dirt/dead skin. Give it a rinse and dry it well. If the horsehair brush bristles are too long to properly agitate the surface, just give them a trim with a beard trimmer.

100%, buddy told me to try it a long time ago and I’ve been doing it ever since. Brings some tackiness back and cleans really well.

Interesting... do you find that it leaves behind little bits of the wipe as it flakes off with the rubbing? I have used baby wipes on stuff to clean and find they can disintegrate a bit if you rub too hard? If that makes sense

Yup, I just rub the grips down good with my golf towel prior to putting them back in my bag.

Oh should add anything like PU or with a foam layer I might avoid a stiff brush. 

 

Solid rubber go wild.

Any thing like superstroke will soak up water, and soap if you use it.  You can rinse and dry it with a towel, but it’ll take overnight or longer to dry out. And you won’t get the soap residue out.  They recommend 90% rubbing alcohol which works reasonably well. I just use a wet towel and let it dry out, however long that takes.   
 

Rubber grips, dish soap, water and a brush, and rinse.  Dry off, ready to go in minutes.  
 

When rubber grips get slick I go at it with sandpaper, 120 grit, then the soap water and brush.
