New Fujikura shaft?

Day 1 with this shaft, and after 140 swings between 7 iron and driver I started to get it moving (for me)

The most I’ve ever had in one session was a maybe 5 balls in the 170’s, but never like this.

This was after 3 weeks off from a wrist injury so haven’t done any speed work at all.

Build is + 6x, tipped 1” 45.25” playing length

How does the tipped one inch feel in that shaft?

Thanks for sharing this comparison. Pretty interesting to see how the Velocore+ launches higher and spins less than the TR Red. Seems like TR Red fits into a better spin window but launched on the low end. How did the dispersion between the three compare?

TR blue and 2024 blue has misses left and right, probably due to the lack of spin. The red spun well and was very tight on dispersion.
I tried to go back into my session to post the dispersion graphics but for some reason it didn’t save.

Fine, the shaft seems stable but light-ish

Low 170's? Gonna have to revoke your WRX card.

The shaft is definitely lighter. Weighed mine today and it’s coming up D2 swing weight. My TR red and TR blue setup the same are showing D4.
could be a partial reason for it being harder for me to find the middle of the face.   I’ll try some lead tape to bring it up and D4 and report back.

Interesting,

my TR Red 6x swingweights exactly 0.5 less than the Velo+ 6x exact same length

Finally got to hit my new 5x today. Coming from the OG blue 6s. No trackman numbers to share, just on course review. My swing speed is normally between 110-115. The new shaft is definitely lighter (obviously), but extremely stable and fast. No numbers to back it up but I could tell my spin was down. I was hitting very controlled, tight fades. Loving the feel so far. Seemed to gain some distance as I was hitting an iron into a par 5 where i usually hit hybrid.  It’s going to be in the bag to start the season for sure. Fujikura has done it again.

I am loving it in the driver so far but did not care for it in the fairway wood, I launch my TR Blue a lot higher with more carry in the fairway woods than I do with the + YMMV

Are you sure the new one isn’t slightly shorter? 2 swing weight points would suggest the new one is counterbalanced.

I played 5 rounds with the blue+ 6x so far. My gamer since May of last year has been the Blue TR 6x, so I have some decent thoughts on the two.

- Blue+ has more kick. Certainly a softer feeling handle.

- Need to test more but actually it wanted to draw less on me, and seemed to favor more of a pushy fade. Maybe it's my swing though, hard to say.

- Actually seemed to launch lower than Blue TR all else equal.

- My guess is slightly higher ball speed compared to TR. I say this because I was getting very little roll on certain days but still getting about the same total distance as I'm used to. Hit a few of my longest drives ever.

- Flip side though, because it feels significantly less stiff in the handle than TR, it does feel slightly less accurate for ME personally. If you have an aggressive tempo and/or tend to place a lot of force into the handle early in transition.. Might not be for you.

Sounds like it’s exactly as advertised, just an updated version of the OG blue. The stiffer handle never matched up great for me in the TR Blue.

I have a Blue+ 6X on order in an AI Smoke 💎💎💎. Cant deny I was slightly influenced by how the color of the Blue+ will go perfectly with the AI Smoke. Will report back on my findings once it arrives!

If the grip is different that could easily skew the SW as well.

Yeah mid and jumbo grips can definitely drop it a point or two as well.

Pretty much as advertised. Slightly more torque on both tip and butt, even though they are relatively the same overall stiffness. It's that area right after the mid section where the TR kicks up in stiffness significantly, where the blue+ is more linear. Combo that with more butt torque, and it's going to feel much less stiff in the hands. According to this, they are both virtually the same in the tip section... So I feel like it really comes down to your timing and swing characteristics, and how this fits you (or not).

I played 18 with it yesterday.
Feel wise it is a little bit tighter but there is ZERO adjustment it is plug and play.
Performance wise on course (It was Cold & windy yesterday) It found fairways & provide excellent launch & spin.  I can't speak on distance because of the 20mph winds we had most of the round.  The few shot I hit with it with no wind it was probably 5-10 yards longer than the OG Blue.

It’s weird that I tried the 7X in my 3wood and the plus outperformed perform the TR in every way, but when I switched to the 8X in my 5wood, the TR was a better fit than the plus. Not sure what to make of that.

Slight manufacturing variances in shafts?

Are you playing it same specs as OG blue?  I just got mine and not sure if I need to tip it the same as OG Blue.
