What are you looking for in a ball?  Callaway SuperSoft is very popular for a reason, and is a great ball for a LOT of players.

I've only got 2 rounds on course and one hour on the sim, but I'm really liking these.

Looking for a value ball that isn't too low compression. My driver swing speed is around 98-100 so balls with super low compression don't go as far for me

Obviously the Kirklands.  They are relatively inexpensive new and ridiculously cheap used.

I just tried, and REALLY liked the Vice Pro. Feel, to me, is similar to the ProV1. In your price range if you buy in quantity on their website.

This.

I will say the lime Vice mark up a lot more than a Pro V 1  yellow does as its more of a coating on their ball vs actually in the cover of the ball, but I don't really care when I can just throw the ball in the pond off 18 once i'm finished if its marked up.

I have also heard a lot of excellent things about the Maxfli balls, so thinking about grabbing a dozen or two of those for my spring balls when its cart paths only and i hit a foul ball I don't feel like I have to go look for it.

Agree on the MaxFli's.

But you can get two dozen Z-Star Diamonds on sale for $70 ($35/dz) on their 24 pack special.

The MaxFli Tour X perfomance numbers are VERY close to the Diamonds, however the Diamonds feel softer and will have a slight edge on greenside spin.

MaxFli's will be more clicky and firm.

Also Srixon has their buy 2 get 1 free sales a couple times a year.

Should have the next sale soon close to Father's day.

I've been loving the MaxFli Tour S.  The regular Tour is great too.  Great deal especially when you buy more boxes similar to Vice's deals.

FWIW, if you're near a Dick's or Golf Galaxy, an added benefit of the MaxFli is that you can stop by and pick up a few dozen anytime for a great price.  It's nice to have "your" ball readily available if you need some "now."

Another vote for Maxfli Tour X. They do everything my ProV1x does and I am quite happy with them. I also am using the "align" feature which is easy to line up but also fairly subtle and non-distracting. I prefer it to the triple track and definitely to the stripe that the Tour Response has.

Two for $70 isn't what I'd call a "great" price. But still less than the other major brands. If you're not buying 4 dozen, you're paying at least $5 more/dzn.

True, but they're actually available locally unlike a lot of similar options.  I try not to run so low as to "need" them, but it doesn't suck that they're there if I do. (stupid swamp on 15)

It doesn't become a crazy deal until you buy them in bulk, but I'd still take a $35/dz vs $55/dz for sure.  But I get your point absolutely.

This is just a me thing, I think once you get to "Pro V" level of golf balls, your best deals are going to be in that $35/dz until you're buying in bulk.

It just becomes I'm more comfortable giving up on a $3 golf ball vs a $5 one, lol.

Stocking up on Z Star (XV/Diamond) when they're on sale. Think you can still find the previous gen out there for about $30/dz too

i always hit up my local Academy during the winter when they mark down the prior gen Srixon XV's to $25/doz. I got some mis-marked a few years ago, 6doz for $10 each. my favorite ball.

Yes. I ran out when I was in Florida last month, and needed another dozen. Sucked to pay $35 for two when I had 12 dozen at home that I got for $25.

Vice has their "6 for 5" dozen special running right now (FREEDOZEN is the code. Today might be the last day?) it typically happens a few times a year and you can get 6 dozen balls for ~$160. I prefer the Pro Plus but the Pro is a great ball if you like a softer feel. They make a decent glove as well if you like a full leather Titleist PLayer's type. Their green pitchfork is great. I swear I don't work for them!

Maxfli comes in slightly cheaper, I'm a big fan of the performance, but not the feel. Totally subjective, I know several good players who swear by them.

I tried to like them, but they scratch up way too easily. The old MTB-X was way more durable and LONG.

For me, it’s Vice Pro. Great ball.
