I tried to like them, but they scratch up way too easily. The old MTB-X was way more durable and LONG.

For me, it’s Vice Pro. Great ball.

That's exactly the problem I have had with Vice.  Have heard they are better now but was burned before, so not likely to try again.  Never had a Snell have issues of any kind, but I understand that is why these are on such a huge sale.  I bought this batch too, just none of mine had issues

I was skeptical of the Maxfli Tour X, but I tried it and for the money it is a very good ball, especially when they are running their deals.

Day in and day out, I probably would prefer the Vice Pro Plus if I had to play a "non-mainline" ball over the Maxfli,

QST is also a good ball for the lower compression crowd, haven't tried the Maxfli Tour which might be a closer match.

For the price it's almost impossible to beat Maxfli Tour, Tour X, Tour S.

Maxfli Tours are the closest thing to the Pro V1s IMO.

For the average chopper, the TM Soft Select/Soft Response sold at Costco for $35 for two dozen. A fine three piece ball with good speed, very good spin and excellent durability.

Dicks Sporting Goods sometimes runs the Maxfli Tour/Tour x/Tour s sale at 4 dozen for $119.

$120 is basically the regular price for 4 dozen, all the time, for the 48 packs. And also, even if you buy r single dozens, the price will end up the same after you add them to your cart.

When they have an actual sale, they can be had for 4 dozen for $100. Thed did this on Black Friday, and another 1 day sale in conjunction with MGS.

Taylormade Tour Response is a good ball and stacks up well against its more expensive TP5 brothers.

Agreed. The Tour Response has been my ball since 2021 after not liking the 2021 TP5/TP5x versions. I swing it around 100 and this ball is long, is great in the wind, and has decent enough spin around the greens. Plus, I can usually find them on the bay for $27-$30 bucks a dozen 👍

I just tried, and REALLY liked the Vice Pro. Feel, to me, is similar to the ProV1. In your price range if you buy in quantity on their website.

Pro Plus for me.  Tour level urethane ball that pretty much checks all the boxes.  Affordable at around 30 bucks a box if bought in bulk.

Add another vote for Maxfli Tour / Tour X / Tour S.

Cut makes some really good urethane balls for under $30 a dozen as well but durability of their covers is pretty poor.

The Maxfli balls are unbelievable - good price and great performance which is almost unheard of these days.  They are second only to Pro v1 for me.  They are so good that some other companies should shut down their factories and buy Maxfli again.

Last generation 4a or 5a Pro v1 are usually at this price.  I use them in the non-posting and winter months and are totally happy.  I buy the ones without markings and I love some of the random numbers and logos that I get - played almost 2 round with a logo for a 30 year scotch and looked it up and it was $600 a bottle.

Maxfli does not have a factory where they could make balls for other companies.  The Maxfli Tour models are made by Foremost in Taiwan - who also make balls for Vice, Wilson, Oncore, TM, etc.  And TM owns at least some of the factory.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the OnCore Elixir. Just a fantastic ball for the price. Buy 4 dozen get 1 free.  Hard to beat. They're as long as anything else, spin perfectly on approach shots and good spin around the green on chips and pitches. They're also durable.

For me:

1. Oncore Elixir

2. Vice Pro

3. Snell

4. Callaway Supersoft

Obviously the Kirklands.  They are relatively inexpensive new and ridiculously cheap used.

Play the MaxFli Tour X.  High compression.  Long off the tee.  Spinny around the green. Available in yellow.  Durable.  And sometimes you can buy them for 4 doz/ $99.  All things considered there is no better ball.

I agree that Maxfli Tours are damn good balls when I bought a dozen of them at my local Dick's in Bellingham, WA when I cross the border but the Kirklands offer far better value to me.    I bought 300 used Kirklands on a Black Friday Sale at Golfballplanet.com for $193 CAD (with free shipping).  That's about .64 CAD per ball.

Try to find used Maxfli Tours that low.

Srixon Z-Star/Z-Star XV when they go on the 3 box sale. Last time was $105 CAD for 3 boxes, $35 CAD each at Golftown. For premium urethane that's excellent. This was 2 years ago, prices have gone up a bit.

Regular price (no deal) good values are Titleist Trufeel for a 2 piecer. Urethane good value are Wilson Triad and Srixon Q-Star Tour.

The Elixir had the same issue as Snell.  When TM acquired Nassau Golf they cut off Snell and Oncore from their cast urethane models.  The Elixir had to go to TPU, which is fine Callaway is TPU), but had to go through the pains Snell is going through.  They are selling their 2020 model Elixir which was the cast urethane model at $30 / doz with multi box discounts:  3 for $84, 6 for $144 ($24/doz) Which is a GREAT DEAL as that model is really good.

still nothing close to the V3 Kirklands. I got paired up the other day, and because I didn't get much of a warmup in, I started the round with a Kirkland because I tend to miss some fairways without warming up. He asks what I'm playing, and I show him. He said he heard they were much shorter than other balls, I tell him I haven't really found that. He hits a nice driver about 250 with the rollout with his ProV1. I take out my 5 wood, and he's like, "no driver here"? I tell him that's too much club for me, and proceed to rope a baby draw through the dog leg about 270 yards out. The next hole I bomb a drive about 315, and he smiles and says he may have to pick up a box at Costco next trip.

I'm sure it was your clubs, not the ball. 😄
