Found it interesting that the long time Axis1 user appears to be gaming a Scotty Cameron during the Open qualifier. His bag is slowly becoming all Titleist (aside from the M6 fairways that may never be replaced).

Also there is Superstroke grip, which I think is also new following them buying Lamkin.

The marketing blitz from the 2013 US Open win has finally run its course.

Has Rose ever moved product? Survey says "no."

I disagree. I think tour usage (especially around golf forums) moves way more product than you think.. Jailbird comes to mind as a super recent example..

We all like to say that we are individual thinkers and we are not affected by marketing. But we are.. Simple as that.

Another being Scheffler and Schauffle both pushing the plumber's neck mallet trend forward with Spider X L-neck and 7CH respectively.

Bit harsh…… 99% of pro endorsements leads to 0 sales I’d wager.

I think there are definitely two camps here; general tour usage and player specific parts.

General tour usage *absolutely* drives all kinds of sales, from individual clubs to entire genres of club (driving irons, mini drivers etc). The shaft market clearly gets love too as I doubt there was anyone on the board and Fujikura that would argue that the popularity of the Ventus lineup and the subsequent demand for stock Fujikura Ventus-looking shafts didn't drive big business. You also see reduced taper +4/+2 style grips *everywhere* now since companies decided to start marketing what tour players were already doing.

Player specific stuff though is tiny by comparison, and while I don't think Cobra/Honma/Miura thought those player partnerships were going to initially move a ton of product, I do think it's been an experimentation in trying to achieve the same kind of buzz that mass adoption generates without the "mass" part, and that doesn't seem to usually work out? That's just what it looks like to me anyway.

You articulated what I meant….. individual sponsorships matter little unless it’s a hot/marquee player but collective/trends do drive sales.

All fad designs eventually fade away like LAB, AXIS, jailbreak, wrist lock, etc etc in favor of going back to traditional setups.

We will see if LAB is a fad.   Feels like the technology will stick, even though its easy to say that with all the success they are having now.

Yeah, I could see this. Some of it is hard to gauge. There are also some very specific players that create movement.

LAB has just won the second straight senior major championship.  Definitely played on multiple tours by players.

Super happy for them. I'm sure LAB will stick around for people with putting yips and other problems with a natural stroke.

Got nothing to do with that.  The technology is legit.  Just another great option available for someone looking to putt better.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
