Best forged cavity back irons

I suppose 'best forged cavity back' is kinda of a subjective term.

I mean.. theres so many of them out there, and I doubt you can settle which ones are the best.

It's a big category.

Are you after a club that looks and feels like a blade but with added forgiveness?

Or are you after more of a game improvement iron with a sleek appearance and a forged feel?

i love my cally x forged 07's its hard to get those out of the bag. i try other sets but they keep going back in. just ordered new nike pro combos we will see how those work out

TM 300 forged are all over eBay for like $150. Awesome irons that are every bit as good today as they were in 2005 when everybody had to have a set...

J33 Cb's, Cobra Pro Cb's, J38 Cb's, Titleist CB's, Tm 300's Miura...my personal top five in their respective order...but they are all so good I would play any of them any time.

VR Splits aren't the most forgiving in this category but they're probably up there in workability.

My vote would be for the titleist cb's. Just real nice.

It's totally a personal opinion. There are many good OEM's out there but if I were forced to give an answer I'd say you can't go wrong with Mizuno(chou forging) , Bridgestone(endo forging), Callaway(Endo forging) in the 09 versions. Now if you wait until the New irons come out. Nike is going to use Endo for their forgings, and not sure about TM who's forging but they are releasing forged CB's agaibn which look alot like the 300 series from years back. One of the best irons they ever made. Or you can look around and get a older set of Hogans,Titleist any brand you need to se what fits your eye, They all are made a little different when it comes to offset, size and shape of head. These are things only you can answer. Go out DEMO as many sets as you can. Wtite a little mini reveiw of what you liked or disliked abot each set and narrow it down. I mean they make some players cb's and they make some more forgiving cb's. It depends on what catagory you fall into. Hope this helps!

PS: I almost forgot, you have to check out some of the Adams forged cb's they have had some great reviews. I've never hit them yet but plan on trying all these new sets out this year when I get a chance to DEMO the new releases.

Still have my Hogan Apex Edge Pros in the bag and they will not be leaving anytime soon. Yeah, the company is no longer around but the irons play great and feel great. If you are looking for used, there are a few sets on ebay right now.

mp32.. easiest to hit blades, if you're not comfortable get the mp60. These irons will take you a long way.

I still think that the TM X-300 FCI was the best cavity back of the last 10 years. It had a fairly compact head shape, a very modest top line, significant weight moved to the perimeter, and they had excellent feel..much better, much crisper than the 300 Forged. This is one of those irons that I wish TM had decided to offer year in and year out, like a Ping classic model, to players. It was just a great iron.
