Jimmy Roberts interview with Rory just painful

Does Jimmy think that Gmac gave him a couple swing tips in the restaurant. These guys are around the game so much that Im sure golf is the last thing they want to talk about at dinner. They talk about normal guy things like how hot the waitress is and what strip joint they are going to after.

Jimmy Roberts interviews are awful and I am certainly no fan of his, but I think he got left out to dry by Rory on this one. A reporter never asks a question like that (about dinner) without already knowing the back story. The on-air talent already talked about how Rory said that his dinner with the G-Mac and their caddies got him going today. Rory basicially just said F-you to Roberts by giving the non-response he did.

He just said "yeah myself and Graeme (Graham?) went out with our fathers/caddies and G-mac's wife" and that was about it. I wouldn't have answered that either and after the interview I would have told Jimmy to tell his producer to ask me golf questions and not something you would find on TMZ.

Well isn't it also possible that this may have been sensationalized a little bit by the on air "talent"?

Rory did say that he was not feeling all that great about his round yesterday and they decided to go out, and it was a good thing.

You may have either missed or forgotten that.

+1. I never watch them. In fact, my normal mode for watching golf is on a muted HD TV, with my iPod playing on the speakers. Now and then I'll have CC on (I actually usually like, for instance, Dottie's comments) ... but really ... listening to most of these guys talk (be it the GC, NBC, or CBS) just makes me crazy.

Haha I love these posts...because these folks didn't hear it because it's muted or the background music is playing what Jimmy Roberts said never happened.

He did nothing wrong it's just plain bad for a guy who is a professional to ask dumb a** questions.

I just think a person can make Or break the interview from the start. They need somebody younger that really knows what's going on in these guys life and understands the game.

Maybe somebody that is a human...

He's the guy that interviewed Pete Rose during the all star game (might have been World Series, can't remember) about 10 or 12 years ago and put him completely on the spot in front of millions about the whole betting scandal. It was a very awkward moment in the history of TV... lol.
