How's the Memphis ?

Great balance, head is elongated compared to the Roundback I was playing, very solid feel and stable for a compact size. You can really feel the difference between perfect impact and a little off. If your on the fence, I would get one. I don't think you would regret it.

Have you hit the 917? Was talking with the best local fitter and he said when it comes to 3 woods its M2, 917, and then everyone else is behind. Could flip a coin, decide based on looks, or go 917 if you want adjustable is his opinion. I've got a 917 F2 demo in the bag but my club doesn't have an M2 with a halfway decent shaft so I'll have to go all in if I want to try one on the course. Hopefully have a month left in the season and want to settle on a 3 wood for next year.

I spent some time on a grass range with the 917D3 with a Tensei Blue 60TX and a F3 with Tour AD GP 8X. The D3 was a lot higher spin in 8.5 than my M1 8.5 head with the same shaft. I like everything about the club expect for the performance I saw, I think that shaft combo was just a poor setup and with a better configuration it could be a good driver but I did not see anything that makes me want to jump ship on my TMAG setups. The F3 was really good and a lot of fun to hit, it has a persimmon like feel like the 915FD. I went back and forth between the 917F3 and my deep face M2 and I would take the M2 over it but the F3 was one of the best OTR heads that I have hit in a long time. The F3 is going to fly lower than the standard tour M2 which goes pretty high and far.

Paco, how comes you are the only living being that has owned that hat? I know you are a tiny bird but you wear it well, what's the secret?

He fuels his body with opiates, alcohol, and rage. Keeps him slim and trim so the hat looks $. ;)

In terms of loft PACO doesn't touch anything north of 5*. Heard his SS (fast feathers) reaches 128mph.

I heard Rory requested the M2 with Parrott alignment and they told him it's off limits. Crazy

Seems like one of them has definitely been Tour seeded so would be perfect for our Paco

Got a quick range session in today with the lower lofted of the two M2s (8.4*). This is my first time hitting an M2 more than a few balls on the course with playing partners clubs. Feel is a lot different than the M1 (both have hot melt). It seems a lot easier to hit than the M1 and feels better. I can't wait to get it on Trackman and the course to see exactly what is going on.

How was the ball flight? You playing at the 8.4 or did you loft it up?

From what I could tell on good strikes the M1 and M2 launch close to the same but on bad strikes the M2 launch is more consistent as the M1 can be on the lower side. My M1 is 10* 2.5* Face angle and the M2 8.4/ 2.9. Both were set one degree lower.

X7 is the lowest of the bunch in terms of spin and flight. X7 is too much shaft for me, feels really close to the same as the CTaper but is just a little more demanding for me to hit.

CTaper is the highest launch and low spin. I love the ball flight of the CTaper but I found it really demanding to hit cuts with them as they are just really low spin. I think S+ hard stepped or X soft stepped or even S+ straight in would be a better shaft in terms of being able to control the ball more... I might come back to these later.

V 130 is the lowest launch and most spin. On paper these are supposed to launch higher than the CTaper but everything I have seen (two sets of irons, a few trackman fittings, etc) they launch lower and have a flatter flight. I think the last time I hit these on Trackman my spin was about 200 more than the CTaper and the peak ball flight was 2 yards less. These are the easiest of the bunch for me to control the ball and I just hit them a little more consistent. I kind of wish I went 125 this time but I don't think their would be much difference in terms of performance, just weight.

PX 7.0 I have only hit a handful of times....

917 ? - No - Bad traction.

I use a Tour Issue Vapor Flex that Rory tossed me when we were in Abu Dhabi testing last season.

Just makes for a much better golfing experience with the right equipment. Details guys, it's in the details.
