Really good shafts, I played them for almost 2 years. 125 and 130 performed the exact same in regards to launch/spin/flight the only difference was weight. I have not heard one good player get them and have complaints. What heads did the broken hand man fit you into?

Haha, when I first saw him I wondered why he gave me a soft fist bump but then he explained what happened. The PXG 0311T was the best fit for me. Next best thing were the 716 CBs.

If there was anything I could change about the Works 2 Ball it would be the insert... The Metal portion makes it feel a little metallic almost, I would much prefer the insert that is in the Versa line. I might grab a milled 2 ball but I have not seen a lined one.

Just grab one and use car pinstriping to make the line. Less than $2 at autozone and you get a perfect line that you can peel off easily if needed. DO NOT ATTEMPT A SHARPIE. It doesnt work out well.

 

Thanks for the heads up. Do you have much experience with the various 2 balls? What milled version do you prefer?

I've been using MOI mallets for the better par of a year.... I just make more short putts under pressure with them, I have been playing in a lot of skins games so they tend to matter more than before.

As much as I LOVE my 009, this is where I have trouble with blade putters too. Stupid-short putts under pressure. I know it's the pressure more than the putter, but I don't seem to miss these with my mallets.

 

I think I may see a Ketsch in my future...

Exactly why I play high MOI mallets now. Every now and then I'll go back to a blade but it never seems to last.

Scratch, I see you have Speeders in driver and fairway. How did the Diamana beat the Speeder out in the 816 H2? I am eyeing that very set up. Thanks

Last time I got fit for woods at TPI they fit me into the D+ over the Speeder TS. I came to a realization recently that I really can't tell any difference in regards to "feel" in any of these shafts.... I can tell weight and flex easily but they all feel the same to me. So whatever gives me the best numbers and flight that I want are the deciding factors.

Scratch I think I'm going to grab a two ball in the new white hot rx line tomorrow. Let ya know how it goes. Sounds like same roll technology but in the insert with softer feel. Win win.

I actually looked at these the other day, the 2 ball looks nice... I have been putting pretty good with the V Line so I am going to stick with it... I do want to try the new Cameron's though.

Just curious if you guys have had any distance control issues with the c taper 130s? I'm getting a few that fly wayyyyyy too far with shorter clubs. Can't tell if it's the shafts or the s55 heads.

 

Also X7s are legit, tried them in my fitting in AP2s

If you feel like the Ctapers are lacking, move up to the DG Tour X7. Walk straight past Modus 120-TX

 

Modus is great in partial shots, but it isn't going to keep up with a full swing. It's going to cry for mercy.

 

DG Tour is feels like a slightly stiffer X100 until you really try to step into one. That's when you see the extra gear those shafts have. Where X100 will start to go high and right, DG Tour X7 will keep it on track.

I tried the 130 and 120 pretty extensively last year, the 130 launched too high and spinny. I liked the 120 but the flight was a much different shape and apex than what I am used to. I was thinking about the C10 protos. Have you tried those?

I have not had that issue. They do launch really high though in the CB heads and have super low spin. I could see it happening while hittinb full short irons and any kind of helping wind as they would get up and not want to come down.

How would you compare the workability of the X7 to Taper 130? Particularly in trying to flight down and move short irons left to right or right to left? I like that I can flight Tapers but I don't think they are the best shafts for moving the ball side to side.

Hit the X7's today. Feel really heavy if you're into a heavy feeling shaft. Ball flight was good, lower by a little than my AMT's in the club I hit, felt more demanding than my AMT's. Both were hit in the 716 MB.

Which club were you swinging? The x7's were more like your longer irons and less like the lower irons, correct?
