Nike doesn't look good on you Paco, it's like a Kardashian wearing Sketchers.

After testing the M2 today on the course I am going to stick with the M1. I think I need an M2 that is less loft and the face is closer to square. The ones I have are short of the M1 good for good and on mishits. Also I much prefer the way my M1 sets up with the face angle closer to square instead of 2.5 open.

I think I am going to stick with the M1 until the new Callaway driver comes out and new TM and then take another run at drivers.

The Tensei White shafts are quickly becoming an ATF of mine..... I like everything about them, especially in the TM heads. Super stable, not boardy , med flight and low spin. Very comparable to the Fuji 757 series but more feel.

I'm so geeked to try the Tensei White I can hardly stand it. Really hoping it's a custom option in the Epic line.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Tensei White. Maybe I'll get a chance to try it soon...

Been playing it for over a month.... It's a cannon, really low spin, not ideal off the deck but extremely good off the tee. The Tensei Blue would probably be a better 3W shaft if you are trying to hit it off the deck often and land on greens.... The course I play most of the time does not require that shot for the most part..... On the back 9 I generally hit 3W 5 times off the tee so this club is perfect.....

Curious as to what prompted the hybrid change? Too much left in the 816?

Just more comfortable with the M1 on the course.... No reason other than I am just more consistent with the M1.

Ugh. I'm so jealous of your 3 wood. I'd love to have one. Haha

PM me know if you need help locating one.

A lefty one????

Here are my thoughts on my irons - P790's 4-P Modus 130 - 72 holes - handful of range sessions

  • More offset, bigger overall head, and larger top line then anything I have owned in the last 10+ years. They take some getting used to (especially the offset) if you are used to looking down at smaller irons. I do like the satin finish and the modern muscle look of the back of the iron.
  • The feel and sound good, probably the biggest surprise with these heads. I expected something hollower, they have the overall feel and sound of a quality forged head.
  • I have found that the 4-6 irons are probably 1.5 clubs longer than what I am used to, 7-8 probably a club longer, and 9-P less than a club longer. If these stay long term I will do a Trackman gap test to see my exact distances.
  • They launch high and spin low, not sure if it’s the shaft, the head, or a combo of both as I have never played these shafts before. With that said I have had zero issues stopping the ball as the decent angle is steep and trajectory is high.
  • I am easily able to bring the flight down and control my distance, I have not had issues hitting any shot that I would normally hit. I can just do it now with a club less which is nice.
  • The two things I like most about these irons:
    1. You don’t have to get too cute with a shot. For example, I had 180 something into a par 5 with water short/ left, long is dead. Normally I would get cute with a 6 and try to take something off it with a cut. Knowing that if I over cut it I would be in the water or nuked it I would airmail the green I would likely bail left. I hit a hard 7 with the 790’s and went right over the top of the flag and had a 20-ft putt for eagle.
    2. The other thing I really like is that I can hit shots with the long irons that I would usually never try. #1 handicap hole on my course, I am in the fairway bunker to a back pin about 230. Ball was above my feet and down wind. I have been in this spot before and hit 4 irons and came up short to the green. I just hit a drawing 5 iron and I was pin high and was able to get up/down to carryover our skins. My team won 6 skins on the next hole.

I have a set of X Forged with the same exact shafts and grips en-route that I plan on testing against these. I did hit the X Forged a few weeks ago on Trackman and was very impressed. At this point though it’s going to take a lot to get the 790’s out of my bag. If you are on the fence about the 790’s because of the size my suggestion is to get over it and try them on the course, in competition, and then see how much the size bothers you.

I have been testing some drivers as well that I will comment on later.

Nice update! I was not expecting 790’s.

I hope the Cobra and Ping made your short list of drivers.

The best decision they made with the 790's was keeping offset to a minimum. This is where so many OEM's are disconnected from what real people want and need.
