Don't know ya but good to see you back, although I'm new I have seen numerous great informative posts from you. Cheers to you and the amount of knowledge you bring. Shame to see situations like this when I'm just getting started on a forum.

Got a 913 D3 coming to try to replace my SLDR 430. I wish I read this forum before buying the tmag in the first place. I have never hit a driver in my life that can go so far on a well struck ball and go so short on a miss. LOL

There are not a lot of updates to my bag as I have been trying to spend more time improving my scores rather than my bag, time is limited these days so I need to use it wisely. I have a few new clubs and plan to head to TPI or Cool Clubs in the next month or so to get new irons. I would upload some photos of the current bag but since I cancelled my Charter Membership I have to delete about 60 Mb before I can upload photos... No way I am dropping a dime to this site after the way they did me....

Rotate the 712 and the hybrid? See any differences between 915 and 816? I'm trying to find something that actually spins a little more than the 915h I have now, it's a great club but like the driver and fairway it's low spin and extremely hot, not necessarily ideal for a hybrid for me.

I'm in the same boat, scores over club tinkering. The club tinkering was another hobby by itself, trying to give it up. Buddy of mine convinced me to give the full Titleist bag a run so I'm just gonna do it and leave it for the year. Simple and I know it performs so just go work on the game. What are your thoughts on a low lofted D2/D3 vs a D4 with slightly more loft?

I only hit a few balls with the 816H2 into a net, but man, that is a nice hybrid. Love the new grey paint job too. Very 975-esque.

 

Any pics of the address/shape of the V-Grind? Just curious because i picked up an older one that I really like. Thanks.

No I play both the 712 and 816... I go 21° to 4 Iron and then carry 4 wedges. I have not liked many Titliest hybrids since the 909. I tried both 910's, both 913's and the 915H and was never really happy with any of them. I have found the 816H2 to be more forgiving and higher launching/ spinning than the 915HD, it sits right between the 915HD and H from what I can tell. The 915H is a little big for me and the HD is just too hard to hit. The 816H1 is almost fairway wood size....

I had the 8.5D4 and played it for a few months.... It's a great driver and launches surprisingly higher than I ever expected.... On the course and Trackman the D2 set at 6.75° is just as long and more forgiving.... The flight is quite a bit different, I actually like the high ball of the D4 more but the D2 is just better for me on the course. The only other driver that interests me right now is the new Ping LS version (Dragonflyor whatever it's called). When I tested drivers on Trackman a few months ago the G30LS has the highest BS and was pretty easy to hit.

The New Ping G LS is really good. I don't like the stock shaft though.
