I am selling my drums since I got married about 9 months ago and have nowhere to put them. Life sucks! :russian_roulette: Go to youtube and search for "tunghook". Several vids of me playing with one of my old bands. The good ol' days.

Shame. Was and is a pleasure to watch "that" Tiger. I played first 2 rounds with x100 Diablo 9 deg at 44" this weekend. Love it. Very predictable dispersion and ball flight. It has placed my Burner 2.0 on the bench for a while. I have a highish swing speed and the driver felt excellent. Robo- much appreciated write up and all the replies.

Yup, it was good to see him smiling and having fun on the course. Even at the pressers he was more easy going.

Hey gang !!!

Been a tad busy & we are getting ready for Isaac to hit tmrw - so I getting the house ready to go

I got 8 cases of cabernet - 12 cases of beer - 3 1.75L Herradura Anejo & 1 BAG OF CHIPS

I am ready.

I have been reading some of the positive results you guys are getting and I am GEEKED !!!

I will try to get on later - I am doing a few last minute errands to get ready to ride the storm out - but I will try to get on later and answer & remark

I now have 6-8 steel drivers / combos

My best so far - and it SO GOOD ... A white ZLE - 207 gram total head weight (with adapter) - x100 tipped 1 inch - 43.75 - hosel in the O position - FREAKING AMAZING

But I gotta be honest - ALL my steel drivers work .... ALL .. I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO GRAPHITE ... I even put steel in my Ping I20 & AMP 3 woods ... DOPE !!!!!!!

Back later hopefully - Gotta go Isaac-proof the homestead

I have my "shorty" driver that's a 9.5* 9032ls with an x100 at 43", never fails me. This thread is tempting me to try steel in my r11, I have a few extra tips. Shorter seems like it's the way to go but has anyone tried 45" in steel? I might give it a try since I can always cut it down to proper length. What could be the downsides aside from heavier static/swing weight?

Bepo, I too was wondering about going to 45". These short drivers with such big driver heads look odd to me.

I tried a Rapture at 44" and it was ssshhooorrrttttt! Glued up a Cleveland DST Tour 8.5* at 44.5" but have not hit it yet. Isaac had our course closed yesterday and today. So hopefully have a whack with it tomorrow.

Ok, I'm intrigued. I have a 41.75" Rifle Lite 6.5 that will play at 43.5" in an R7425 driver (201.3g) OR I could put it in my RBZ 15* 3w at 42" or 42.5" OR I can put a TM tip on it and try with my R11. Which should I try and where will swing wieghts come out using a 55g grip? Can't find any data on the old Rifle Lite shafts but I'm figuring this one weighs right at 105-110g at cut length. Oh, and SS with a driver is right around 100-105.

Forgot to add that the Rifle Lite is a .335" tip and the R7425 & RBZ are both .350" hossels so I should use a brass shim like normal for graphite, right?

I have a bridgestone J33P 9.5 degree head that I think I'm gonna give the steel shaft treatment to.
It's a 375cc head, what length should I cut the shaft to make it play 43.5 total length? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I guess I'm gonna give this a try. Cobra S9-1 Pro S 8.5. Can't decide if I want to go with an S300 and tip it a lot or go with the X100. I've never been a fan of the X100 but my SS dictates that choice. Ideas? Current gamers are VS Proto 70x and Accra Tour Z M5 75+.

When I first put steel in my 983k I had it at 45. It felt weird, too long.

The only way to describe the feeling is that it was a 2 piece feeling. The head never really felt like it had "oneness" in the swing. I never really got that feeling back until I got closer to 43 inches.

That wasnt with a 460cc head, but Id imagine close to the same results

Arrgh. after this topic constantly being bumped im going to cave. Anyone dropped a steel shaft into a 9015d yet? Ordering a x100 as we speak. Think it will need head weighting to play at 43 3/4" or should i just toss it in and give her a whirl? 109SS... Should i tip?

If you don't like X100, get the S300. You can tip the S300 to play somewhere in between flexes if you'd like. Standard tip trim is 1 1/4".
