Hi Spy Zinger,
Is JP doing anything for the tour guys with special weighting or grinds? Does he go out to the tournaments?
Thanks
Brian

None that I've seen.

From what I was told, he will be working on wedges for the Asian market, nothing to do with the Tour.

Did JP design the cold forged wedges?
No idea, sorry. Is that an Asian market wedge?

I just want a wedge with a forgiving grind ... Don't need stamps, jewels, colors, funky acid drips, etc. the best thing for your wedge game is to spend a lot of time with the same wedges

From your comments - I would guess you've never actually seen or hit a wedge by Mr. Harrington? If you had - you'd realize that the decoration isn't what made Titleist excited about bringing him onto their team. He has a passion for wedges, grinds, soles, turf interaction and feel - and how to create a wedge for a player that gives a player confidence in his game. The challenge (with all OEMs) is to mass-produce a wedge design that helps a mass of people who can't be custom/ultra fitted. But like Bob Vokey, Roger Cleveland - who have pioneered wedges in the industry, Titleist sees Harrington as another pioneer.

But it's not b/c of the decorations. LOL

Yes, it's an Asian model Titleist forged wedge.

Not knocking it, just saying what I look for in a wedge. Simple and available for replacement easily so I can get as familiar as possible with how it performs

Would simply suggest that you try them before you comment as you have before.

IMO if Titleist releases some of his wedges back to the US - I think his ideas will give guys like us a few more options than Titleist presently offers. In a word - they could make it easier for golfers to improve their wedge play without having to resort to custom grinding/reweighting etc....which may be what you say you want. :)

I only have wild speculation but I'm guessing he is splitting from Titleist and Titleist owns the James Patrick name

I have been curious from time to time what ever happened to him since signing on with Titleist. Then, I also saw the same as mentioned above, that his Facebook page's name had changed today. There hadn't been a post to that page since it was announced he was going to Titleist in 2013. I hope it means something coming from him, and not that they've just been keeping him under their thumb and "out of the wild" for the past few years. His wedges were some of the coolest and most unique creations in the golf world I have seen. Works of art. I hope we get to see more of his art soon.

I have never heard his name mentioned in association with Titleist outside of this community. Honestly I never saw the point in the move from the beginning considering Aaron Dill was the supposed heir to the vokey Kingdom.
