I hope for the OP sake that he was just trying to be funny. Otherwise his credibility was just shot on here...
I think they really need Rory to start winning again. It's been a PR nightmare for them, he switches to their stuff and his game falls apart. Same could be said for Watney and Stanley to. I have always liked Nike equipment, but when those guys switch to their gear and have bad years, it makes it look like their stuff is sub par

Agreed. When I said by doing the right things, I also meant stepping up their equipment. I would not replace my experience at the Oven for anything, but aside from the sentimental part of that trip, there are still better options for me equipment-wise. I think they are really close to having some seriously good stuff, just needs fine tuning.

I disagree to a point.

I think there is great upside to any of these guys winning, but nobody really notices when guys don't play well.

I realize the Rory struggling gets a lot of play here, but to the general public, it really does not have a negative impact on sales.

For example, I don't think Dustin Johnson's very poor season has had ANY impact on TM's revenue.

But when he wins, and Golf Channel shows highlights of DJ hitting it 340, that drives sales.

^^^plus Watney started out the year playing pretty solid.

Rory also seems to be playing better late in the year.
I know what you're saying, people don't buy clubs because of who is playing them on tour. I was talking more about how the stuff is perceived by the general public. It can't look good for you when the number one player switches to your gear and his game falls apart. We all know why Dustin Johnson has been struggling and its Paulina Gretzky, and who could blame him

Exactly, and that is on top of what I am sure has been a substantial increase in driver sales compared to last year. I really hope Tiger or Rory get a Major win in soon with the Method, I think it will legitimize the technology and the work put in by some genuinely GREAT people working at the Oven.

DJ dates Paulina Gretzky and his game goes down the tubes. Not an eyelash is batted.

Rory and Caro hang out and it starts to have a negative effect and no one wants to mention it. Tell me any guy who doesn't struggle a bit when the GF is pushing the question on him.

Either way, as much as I like Stanley I dont' think those guys matter. I mean Tiger was not the only guy winning majors. Charl, Lucas, Cink, Immelman, these guys were just like Stanley and Watney. Middle of the pack guys that won majors and it did little to move the needle for Nike. To an extent Tiger did little too...As much as people idolize him, there is a good amount that dislike him.

It is huge for Rory to make that brand more friendly and accessible to the average golf fan.

Same thing here. My GF started talking about marriage and my game went to crap. Married her anyways.

Just kidding. I love my wife.

On the other point about Tiger. With clubs, I don't know how much Tiger does for sales. I know so many people who are Tiger this, Tiger that, Tiger Tiger Tiger! I think some if them would order a pay-per-view of Tiger taking a crap. But none of them play Nike clubs.

But they wear the shirts and shoes. That's where Tiger pumps Nike sales. Shirts, shoes, gloves, and hats. To an extent balls, but clothing is number 1 for the Tiger fan.

Does your WITB mean that the 009 is back in play?

Yup. But to be fair, my initial few rounds the specs were off so I really didn't have much confidence with it. After I had the loft and lie adjusted I didn't have time to get used to it due to some tourney's etc had to stick with what worked. I plan on putting it back in the bag soon though.

If Rors or Tiger win a major it would be a great deal for Nike in the driver and putter market. However; Nike won't have retail products that resemble what those two have in their bags. It took them for ever to release the first Methods after Glover had won with one and the retail product looked cheaper.

Having seen too many complaint posts, you are definitely "too-somthing". Why don't you stick to positive posts and spend more of your "critical" time at practice and everyone will be happier :stink:
