Well it won by a monstrous margin so that there must be [i]something[/i] there. I'm excited to give it a try to compare to my Grayhawk - might be a touch more stable and I expect a more solid sound than the Grayhawk. Loving the TR faces, Ping really has done a great job with their recent lines.

From Ping:

The Ketsch is a different shaft from the Nome TR and we us a different material to weight the putter. The weights on the Nome TR are separated and are located on the heal and toe. The Ketsch putter has one large weight on the bottom of the club head that almost covers the entire back half of the putter. It will set up a little different and has different sight lines.

Now it just needs to go on sale......

Very curious about this putter AND the results of mgs review. Would like to roll one a bit and see..

Results were posted and are really interesting. The Ketsch is apparently near automatic from 5ft as only 2 putts from all of the testers missed. 96% made from 10 different people is highly impressive!

I've been a Cameron supporter since high school but this putter appears too good to ignore, as is the Ping true roll technology. I desperately want to test one out, maybe a CB version.

I don't see how it's THAT automatic - most of making putts is having the face squared properly at impact. There's nothing groundbreaking as far as the tech that would make this so far and beyond everything else out there.

Don't get me wrong, I was interested before and am definitely excited about it now. Just a bit skeptical of the insane results.

I know, I know. My bag is like a cornucopia of golf manufacturers! I use whatever works, not tied to anybody. I go with results...
I am dying to try this putter so much that I may have to miss some work next week and drive over to the ping facility for a fitting! I'm feeling sick haha!

So how did it perform so much better in the testing?

High MOI? Yes, but other high-MOI putters were in the test and they didn't fare as well. DLL was 13th.

Alignment? Pretty easy alignment, but other putters with plenty of alignment didn't finish so well.

TR grooves? Sure, but other putters like Craz-E had TR grooves and finished 9th.

TGW is showing 4 week ship time for custom orders from them. That sucks. Calling a local shop to see if they can get a custom order drop shipped any faster than that.

After selling my Method 001 I gave the new TR's a roll this weekend. I can't wait to try the Ketsch, and I wouldn't be surprised if it made my bag this year.

I stopped by PING's headquarters here in Phoenix today for a putter fitting with the Ketsch...

First thoughts are that BOY does this putter setup nicely and frame the ball well! The sight line down the middle is simple and incredibly effective. The feel is surprisingly soft and I didn't have any problem lagging putts from long distance on their outdoor/real grass green.

Now I just need to decide if I want a fixed length or adjustable length!!!???

In my experience, that's pretty typical of TGW to project custom orders out about a month, and they are usually shipped before that. This could be different, but I hope not! I placed my order today, it has a lot of similarities to the WHP V-line that I loved, but there were a few things I didn't like about it and the Ketsch seems to have improved upon those areas so I'm excited.

Not a dumb question... I had never thought about using an adjustable putter, but when being fit, the fitter suggested a 33.5" and I typically play a 33". He then mentioned the adjustable feature and said that I could fine tune it to my liking. I am still on the fence about it... Just an option that I was mulling over. Also, I hate to say this, but I f I dare try to sell it, I could probably sell an adjustable much easier than a 33.5".

Ordered my Ketsch today! Went to my local shop to see if they had a demo or some stock on order, they replied not yet but in a few minutes you can see one. The Ping rep was coming in behind me, wow, got to roll a fixed length Ketsch, nice soft impact, great roll, the setup look was great also, much better in person then the pictures indicated,which IMO where great too. Ordered fixed length, stated to ship on May 1. If you are even remotely interested you need to demo this putter, as it's everything reviews have stated.

I was thinking about ordering a counterbalanced. What length did you order? I was thinking 35".

The Adjustable grip. is quite heavy and affects the balance. Did you try it?

So who is going standard and who is going counterbalanced? I have never had a counterbalanced putter before. Putted on the practice green with a 36" scotty futura x cb and it was a struggle.

I went standard fixed length with the standard PP58 with 5 wraps...not a fan of the corded PP58.
