Isn't the counter balance version adjustable too?

I'm pretty sure you can order an adjustable counter balance but the CB's haven't started shipping yet as far as I know. That picture doesn't show an adjustable though. It would have a metal ball just below the grip if it was adjustable.

You are right. You can get an adjustable CB version which adjust from 34-41 inches. That is the model I am interested in.

^^^^The grip on the adjustable version looks a lot longer in these pics.
That is a counterbalanced version of the putter on the right. The adjustable grip is the same grip as the standard fixed length shown on the left (ping mid size)... I got a little more time with mine on the practice green this afternoon, and I'm digging it!

Yes, there are really 3 shaft types of these putters available:

Standard fixed
Adjustable shaft (standardish grip, thick metal ball just under the grip)
Counter balanced - long heavy grip
So no adjustable counter balance then right?

Would you really need an adjustable length counter balance? There's like 2 feet of grip to choose from!

I went to the golf shop Thursday night and messed around with some putters. I knew I would be buying a new one this year. My Ping Piper has been a good putter, but as a high handicap I am all over the face and my distance control suffers. I had my mind set on moving to a true high moi mallet. The Ping Nome, Craz E, and Odyssey 7 were what I was the most interested in, and then I saw the Ketsch on here. It was a long couple of months sitting on some gift certificates for this putter, but I am glad I did. The golf shop only has a ten foot area or so to putt, but it was obvious that it was going to be a Ketsch and Nome battle. The Craz E and 7 just did not seem to produce a steady stroke for me. Just a matter of preference I guess. I didn't try both putters long, but it was clear to me that the Ketsch was better for me than the Nome with distance control. The golf shop did not have a Nome TR to compare with the Ketsch. I also enjoyed the look of the Ketsch more. The white lines really framed the ball well. I decided to purchase the Ketsch. I did shorten it 1.5 inches to 33.5 and slapped on a Super Stroke 3.0.

After two rounds I am just ecstatic. This club suits me very well and my stroke is smoother. I am prone to having a shaky stroke, especially on a five foot knee knocker. With the Ketsch, it seems it doesn't matter on a 2 inch or 12 inch stroke I am able to repeat the same smooth stroke. I have not putted lights out, but I am burning the edges more often and leaving myself easy clean ups. Distance control has been exceptional. Ping has done a really great job with this one folks.

Which model of Ketsch did you purchase?

Tried my ketsch for the first time yesterday and I would say it went well (shot even 72). Our greens are in garbage condition because they were just aerated a week ago, but I was still able to get something of a feel for the roll. The ketsch has a unique kind of a feel to it....sort of feels like there is a weight immediately behind the ball propelling it forward on a straight line. I had 5 birdies on the day (one tap in), so I suppose something was working well. I feel like it sets up very similarly to my Nome TR. The feel is slightly different though.

Was in Minneapolis this weekend so I found a little time to get to GG. After reading about this putter on Not allowed because of spam I had to try it out. It did roll incredibly well and accurate. There is a tough spot along the wall of their putting green that breaks away from the wall and without the room to aim high enough all you can do is firm it in from about 15 feet. The salesman said he would be impressed if I made it. I had already tried the spot a few times with a couple other putters and made not one. I grabbed the Ketsch and dropped two in a row. I already love my putter but if I was buying this would definitely get high consideration.

I bought my Ketsch last night. 34" slight arc. I kind of wish they had strong arc, but I figure I can send it back to PING if necessary.

I've recently committed to a Snedeker model stroke which has worked great.

Thus, my indoor putting impressions; it seems to feel slightly more firm than my TR Shea H. It also feels lighter.

I will say, there is no way I'm going to abandon the TR face. I was excited the Ketsch was released so I had an option to go to with my new putting stroke. I'm not a fan of the abstract plastic alignment aids on most of their current mallets.

Play 9 holes tonight, although on 1 week aerated greens.

Does anyone know when the counter balance version will be coming out? None of the stores have that model yet?
5/1. There will also indeed be an adjustable, counter balanced option. The CB version will come in 35-38". The adjustable CB version is listed at 38" too FWIW.

Let us know how the Ketsch works out guys. I had one on order but canceled it once I received news that they were backordered until 5/15. Oh well, have a Tank Cruiser V Line coming in shortly to put in the bag.

I recently bought the Karsten TR Anser 2, coming from the Anser 2 and B60 in the Scottsdale TR series. The Karsten feels and rolls much nicer than the Scottsdale series to me. Yes, the TR grooves are the shizzle! I loved my old blue G5i Craz-E, but I changed the grip on it, and it lost its "magic". I tried the Craz-E TR, but it just didn't have the same mojo. I'm really looking forward to trying the Ketsch. I'll just the get the slight arc and 35". I like the idea of the adjustable model, but I know I'd always be tinkering with it, and I need a static length. Sounds like the Ketsch could be a keeper.

I putted with the Ketsch last night and really enjoyed it. It's almost like the alignment optics are 3D, they are extremely vivid and really pop from the black machined body.

I would have preferred to try the slight arc or the counter balanced version, but they only had the straight. I must admit I have not looked at a Ping putter in a very long time but this has a good chance of making the bag this year.
