Hat Storage - How do you do it?

So I am trying to get my golf gear organized a bit, and I am at a loss for how to organize/store all of my hats. How do you guys do it? Right now I just stack mine on a bookshelf, but that is getting a bit over-crowded now. Any ideas?

I am running out of closest space real fast with my lady in there too. I have to get creative with space. I think under my shirts hanging will be racks that stack on top of each other so you can make 3 rows of shoes. Then on the shelf above, I gotta buy cubby's so that I can place several in each slot.

Mine are literally either just on counter tops, or in a box, or thrown on the floor of my bedroom. Pretty sure I probably have 3 or 4 somewhere in the backseat/trunk of my car too.

Store or display? I have a rack by my door that has my 3 hats currently in rotation.

 

In my gear/utility room, I have a plastic set of storage drawers that have my old and out of rotation hats. Hats I use are on hooks on a peg board.

I store hats in two places. In the closet with my clubs (you know, the ones in the sin bin) and my back seat. I likely have 6-8 hats with 3 or 4 in the rotation. After the back seat, they get tossed out because there's more waiting for that spot. If I ever need a hat rack, I've got a problem.

Used to hang them on my wall before I bought a house w/ my fiancé. I've now gone to a Rubbermaid bin.

if you are not looking to display them what i do is I took an shoe box, the best kind are the ones not with a typical lid but more of the drawer stlye. Look at a Jordan or Lebron box. The hats fit nicely in there. I keep the box in my trunk and just slide it open when I get to the course and I have 10 or so hats to choose from.

I have way too many hats, but I bought one of those commercial hat racks (which they sell hats on) for my closet.

When I went off to school I had to improvise space, so the visors went on the wall and got one of these bins for the hats

Garage with thumbtacks at about 8 inch intervals. They hang neatly from the adjuster loop on the back, and the last thing I see as I am getting in my car to back out and hit the course.

 

Those are all my "golf mostly" versions of dri-fit tech, about 6-7 colors.

 

Others of everyday wear are up above the closet hanging clothes on thumbtacks as well.

I've got probably a dozen hats in the back seat. I've got a trunk organizer, but after a round I just toss the hat in the back. I embrace the lazy.

car can't be the best place to store. I see cars often with hats shoved behind the back seats against the rear window. The heat and sun must just kill these hats. I use a clear Rubbermaid container.

Great ideas in this thread! I currently just toss mine in the back seat of my car. I need to start organizing better as many are now wrinkled and creased bills!

Mine all sit on a shelf that once housed my ex-wife's shoes... I probably wouldn't have bought/built a shelf just for hats, but it's nice to have one now.

I thought I had a lot of hats but some of you guys put me to shame.

 

This is a topic I have been considering for months. My hats are stacked on top of each other in 4 piles on the top shelf of a closet. Bad part is after time, I get lazy and the stacks get unstable and before too long when I get one end up with a hat avalanche. I need to do something.

Not a big hat guy off the course... like many, toss my golf hats in the trunk or back seat. If I'm lucky I'll put them on a shelf in the garage.

I have a couple of spots for them. But I am going to build a new golf closet in the garage as we are converting it to a workout/rec room. (Plus golf club and golf cart storage).

 

I am going to build one of those pre-fab storage things you get at lowes. It will have shelves for shoes, 8k balls, three bags (the spare club bags) and all my other bullshiz. May have to have the ping pong stuff in there too as we added a ping pong table for Christmas. But that might go in an added bin on the outside.

I also need to get rid of a bunch of shoes I no longer wear. I think I will be keeping only three or four shoes in the rotation.
