Hey Sammy:

Hope you are playing well. Is there any chance you will be playing in the event at Mesa, Would love to watch you play.

Regards,

Not so much so far , but what is at Mesa or what state is it in ? I am playing in Florida.

I was just wondering yesterday about you - hadn't seen any posts from you in a long time then just happened to click on the LPGA section and saw this. Like so many here I am really glad to see you competing and grinding through everything... you're a determined woman and kudos to you.

Hey Sammy:

On the Symetra Tour:

March-30-April 1.

Gateway Classic at Longbow Golf Club

Mesa, Arizona

Purse: $100,000

I chose not to try for any Symetra tour status this year. I only have three full years of trying tournaments at any level. This is my first try at this level on a regular basis. I just did not want to spend that much only to struggle. Unless weather interferes these are 3 guaranteed rounds of golf. I am nots sure i would have made a cut in the few Symetra events i would have been in. I still have some swing work ands all around tuning ups. I did not play junior golf , high school , or college. I literally just left the driving range five years ago to play a round of golf for real. It is stupid hard to compete at higher levels. One thing i have noticed is you do not have to hit it solid or have a short game to score okay. They all seem to play it way forward ands pick or sort of scoopy hit it to get it up. They have had their swing for the entire time golfing , so they can be consistent with any flaws. I just wonder how high their ceiling is with these games.

As of right now you woulds not love to watch me play. I am a Ranger Rick as Tiger called himself. On the course i am a bunch of anxiousness. I am too quick ands my swing is so out of order. On the range it is almost perfect at times for me.

I was just playing in Florida on what used to be the Suncoast Tour. I have one more event before i go home back to amateur events. I have grown a lot down here. I have not been too focused on scores , but this last tournament i put a solid 27 holes together in a row. I actually felt like i belonged finally. My swing is starting to come together also. The back nine of today's final round gots weird , because i was given higher scores than i had. In the scoring area , they both went against me so i caved but double backed ands No Carded because i was not okay having the wrong score being posted.

I am surprised at how much BS goes on in tour events These cliques gang up on peoples ands nothing can be done. I am glad to be going home after the next event. I am still a amateur , but i have learned a lots about golf ands how i handled this alone. I also learned score does not always tell the full story in golf. You can play good golf with bad scores. I am not not there yet to turn professional , so back to amateur things.

Hey Sammy:

Any update on how your game is going at the moment?

Regards,

It is going well ands i am hitting the ball with nice consistency. I shot three under in a tournament this week. I played in the US Amateur qualfier yesterday ands for 14 holes i was in. The other four holes cost me 11 shots though. Really made me think i needs to be more aware of where i want the ball to end up with my misses. I put myself in spots where i was dead. Some of those bunkers and rough were at least 6-8 below the hole. I did hit a rock under my ball in a bunker though and that cost me. I should never have been near it though. I would put my putting ands wedge parts up against the best now. Tee shots are fine , but i just need to manage approach shots better now.

I love your analysis of the parts of your game, especially where you discuss being aware of where the ball will end up with a missed shot, and managing approach shots. Just great! :)

It's been a couple of years since I've posted here, but yesterday I saw a Facebook post by Geoff "Slicefixer" Jones of one of his students. Beautiful and powerful swing. Really loads the shaft in transition. Then I realized it was Sammy! She just won the New Jersey Women's Mid-am by 12 shots and is in the round of 16 for the Am!

Let's see if this works:
