This looks great! Is it one of those modded by that one guy who I can't remember the name of?

lol

It's the same watch lol

Bought it already modded of a guy on watchuseek.

Just picked this up today, kinetic Tuna

Love it!

I should get a modded SKX, or a couple. They look sick lately. That Tuna rocks too!

Ill mod it for you if you want. I did this a few months ago.

Sweet! I'll send you my contact info via PM.

it has more to do with your disparaging comments, directly or indirectly, to those who like or may not like. Opinions are fine but once you start talking like a pleb I'll agree with everything you say.

you see what I did there?

Rolex are great watches, no doubt about it. Just wish they wouldn't hold back production on the subs, but it keeps the mystique and used prices are really strong :)

Try walking into an Hermes store and asking for their flaghip bags and handing them $10,000 cash....see how that plays out. Hint: just as well as it does with a Rolex SS sport right now. You get laughs.

UNLESS....you happen to want to buy two other watches (bags) at the same time that day. One might magically appear from the back of the store.

Rolex is genius. As are other luxury brands. They know whats up. They dont want, nor need, the money from selling millions of units of something.

Went in and bought an Air King for my son. Got discount and could have had at least 3 subs at the same time inc the cameran sea dweller.

That was the end of last year and my son should’ve picked the sub which I was getting 10% off lol.

Now I bet you couldn’t as they have mysteriously held back production

Like i said, great watches and great marketing

The local Rolex dealer here multiples of everything in stock except for the ones named after comic book characters soda pop and secret agents.

The Air King is a fantastic watch. Under appreciated.

Anyone prefer the "older" smaller cases over the new larger ones?

Besides for investment purposes.

I love the older 39-40mm and those are the only models I own. The new MAXI case IE Rolex is too 'jewelry' for me and the old tool watch style is timeless IMO.

I have both a 16570 Explorer II and a 16610 Submariner Rolexes in the 39mm-40mm range...love them.

I'm trying to add an Explorer II but cannot decide on white or black. I'm tempted to go rogue and find a beater to change into a blue dial just out of spite.

Its a touch choice. My decision was made based on the watch's model year/features/the seller rather than which dial. I could have gone with either color and not minded but I found a late production 16570 with 3186 movement and engraved rehaut in excellent condition with box and papers for from one of the most reputable second hand sellers online - for less than some private sellers wanted for their mid-90s production beat up models. It was a black dial, but it was a no-brainer deal for me. I'm 100% happy with it and I love the black dial. Plus the later models with these improvements is much more in demand now and the price has sky rocketed.

I'm happy to wait a bit for the right one. I like the white dial but so does everyone else apparently lol

Would be interested in people's opinions on this - I know it's not a Rolex, but that is part of the appeal...

5015-1130-52_front.png

I already have the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch (30th birthday present) and a Corum flyback I got as a present to myself when I left the UK

My opinion? Fantastic! If I could pick any two watches to own (within reason!), I'll take a vintage Fifty Fathoms and a JLC Grande Reverso. Given the choice of only one, give me this exact piece. Great choice.

I wonder if that guy from WAY back in this thread with all the fake watches has one with pieces stamped "Fabrique en Paris" :D

When did this thread become so negative? The cool thing about watches and watch collecting is there are all sorts of different brands and styles they give people endless options. So what if someone prefers a Fifty Fathoms over a Submariner or prefers Rolex to (insert any brand name here). From Seiko to Patek, all watches are awesome in their own way.
