Where do you guys buy your watches?

I'm looking for a versitle watch that produces good value for the money. I'm not a watch guy or trying to impress anyone but myself so it needs to be under 2k.

I used the jomashop website for my last two watches. They have options at every price point. For reference I spent $475 and $180 on them.

This is my old Olympic 300m Pro divers watch recently rejuvenated. The original black rubber strap has worn away and has been replaced with a silver band. It has spent a lot of time under the sea and these days only used as a daily drive as I have two 20atm G-Shocks for when the urge to put my head underwater occurs. I once had a watch which was more than 30atm's and had a gas release button on the side - a bit ridiculous when you think about it as at 30atm's and below the watch would be still working fine and I wouldn't. Always had a hankering for a Seiko Divers but don't much like the new designs.

followup: I cleaned the glass with Meguiars Scratch X20 which removed the small scratches. Top of the bezel will always show the battle scars. The raised bezel is very easy to turn when wearing diving gloves, a thing that attracted me to this watch. Can't remember what watches we had back in the 1960's when I was diving for the Navy, but I do remember Moray wetsuits (like cardboard) and dual Heinke tanks with a primitive regulator.

Orient has some really nice entry level automatic watches. They make their movements in-house in Japan. I believe they are majority owned by Seiko.

You can find them for 1/3 off MSRP regularly. The second and third ones pasted in below I bought new for under $200. I'm not sure how they can even make an automatic watch at that price point.

Not impressive by any means but I snagged a Timex Weekender Chronograph and 5 NATO straps to switch around. I always heard how good of a value these were so I decided to add one to the collection and see how I like it. Plus my first watch when I was a kid was a Timex with the glowing face and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Little nostalgia here.

This thread got me wearing an old and reliable watch that is no longer reliable. My wife apparently noticed I'd been "window shopping" and took matters into her own hands and picked out and ordered a new watch for me for Christmas. Had to go out of town to pick it up today (she wanted it sized right, didn't want an extra trip all the way back after Christmas), so I guess I've been a good boy this year (must have been that anniversary trip to California - or just her getting to share in a lesson with Monte while we were there, she isn't talking, lol) - Merry Christmas!

LOL, I will say we are at the 95% point of completing the new kitchen she's wanted for almost 22 years (we are very incremental) so that may have a little to do with it - good thing is she picked out something in a pretty basic design that all manufacturers make one way or another that I really like and I'll wear every day - it won't just sit in my closet which for me is important.

My latest acquisition...also in need of a broken-in band.

I have a luminox that I loved!! But I changed the battery out and the watch falls several minutes behind a day until its about 2 or 3 hours behind. I really need to send it back to luminox and have them fix it up.

Ha now Im just rolling with a timex Ironman my nephew got me for christmas a year ago. I had an ironman when I was in middle school 20+ years ago. My brother wore one so I got one and thought I was the coolest.

I love the history and significance of Snoopy and "What could you do in 14 seconds" on the face.

for me it's the enamel caseback although no one sees it when wearing it.

Pardon me if this question was already asked and answered in the 20 pages, which I haven't read, but what do you all suggest would be some good options for selling a TAG Aquaracer automatic watch? I'm not really interested in dealing with Ebay hassles. Thanks

Actually, the winner in the group is the seiko 6139. Those are column wheel chronographs, and have become really collectible lately. I bought mine from goodwill as well. Nice ones will go for 500+ now.
