Adam Scott testing the Titleist 915 "D5" at the Barclays

I asked a very reliable source about the D4 and D5 today... I was told that only a few exist and they are unsure at this point if they will come to retail. I am very confident in the information that this person shares, so anyone saying that is coming I believe is speculating.

My inquiry yesterday got a similar response, also trust my contact as this person got my 907d4 for me years ago.

Titleist website states that Adam is playing a 10.5 degree 915 with the kuro kage 80 shaft. Wonder what drove the change in the degree increase and the shaft change.
[/quote] well the KK should launch lower than the DI which probably promted the loft increase

I would definitely agree with that statement. I have both shafts and I have to increase my loft when I put the KK silver in play.

I thought he was playing an AD BB painted black?

When I was at Titleist las someone was telling that because the new drivers are lower spin they are seeing people go up in loft. I was told about 1° on average. So I think it would be a combination of the head and shaft. Plus he mentioned that he was looking for more distance, carrying the ball further helps with distance.

Scott has never played a BB or one painted black. His shaft before switching to the KK was the black version of the DI 8X. He did test a BB, but never put it into play.

Saw this driver up close today at Cherry Hills. No scoring lines or paint on the face was very stealth. His ball flight was impressive. The KuroKage made the bag - no more black DI-8x.

Titleist better release this product. There are alot of people on this site that would love to get their hands on one of these clubs, and I feel this would sell to alot of good players and many people who are traditionalists and like smaller driver heads

I really don't think they would sell that many to the general public. I'm not sure that even here on WRX that they would outsell the D3 if tested alongside each other. Even Adam Scott went with the D3 over the D5. And I can confirm that it looked and sounded great at the BMW Championship.

Fair points, I would hope they release one though, i think it would be awesome to see a 400cc head back on the market

I would love to see one. I'm going to get my old callaway out of storage a mess around with it.

Bring out the D5. Just make it a special order. Probably be the only time I would be happy to spend $500 on a driver.

And then you will put it on the BST, realizing that you can't hit it for the same reasons you ditched your old Callaway...

I didn't ditch it. I gave my old clubs to my brother since he was just starting out. He no longer plays so they are mine again until I come across a new golfer who wants some clubs.

I'm just not a fan of the huge driver trend going on. I could hit much smaller drivers just fine. But I'm a chump just like everyone else, buy into new tech every now and then.

The D4 is much lower spinning than the D2/3. With the weight forward it is 300-400 lower. It is 450 cc and has been available since last spring. Priced at $500+ and special order to discourage impulse buyers who would return it days later. Unlikely the D5 will be offered as the only heads are in Adam Scott's possession..
