Hey everyone. Just want to clear up any confusion. The original Rifle as well as Black Gold were DESCENDING weight shafts...meaning that the 3-iron was the heaviest shaft in the set and progressively got lighter as you moved into the short irons. It's actually the complete opposite of this technology.

And yes, Ping does have a shaft called AWT. Very different profile and weight progression throughout the set. Excellent shaft...just very different.
You are correct, sorry for my confusion. I still say that the black golds were my fav though. i wish I could find some taper tip x flex shafts.
Black Gold was an amazing shaft wasn't it? One of my all-time favorites. On a side note...do you think we should consider bringing it back at some point?
well, at least one set of 8 for me. LOL. I know that it was not a huge hit, and didnt seem like it caught on, but i loved it. it was the most stable shaft for me that i have ever played. I would say yes but I dont know if it would make fiscal sense for TT.

Chad,
What would be the difference in someone playing S200/S300/S400 in long/mid/short irons vs. the AMT shafts? Could you essentially create them using those 3 different weights with similar profiles?
I can grab this one.

The weight of a S200 is only a few grams lighter than the S400. Using a S200/S300/S400 set would only give you about 3 grams of total increase from 3 iron to wedge and some shafts would be the same weight. The Dynamic Gold AMT has over 20 grams in increasing weight from 3 iron to wedge with each shaft being progressively heavier.

Chad .. Pls compare to the tour concept shafts ...
Certainly. Tour Concept was a constant weight shaft (just like Dynamic Gold...all shafts in the set weigh the same). They were around 125 grams. They were designed with a "flighted" type of progression. Long irons specifically designed to hit it higher...short irons more controlled/flat. We've had several other popular designs over the years that were built off of this philosophy...Monaco and DG Pro being two of them. What sets Dynamic Gold AMT apart is that the stiffness profile is the same throughout the entire set...Dynamic Gold performance. The key is the 3-gram weight increase between shafts from long irons to short irons. Allows the players to more easily launch the long irons because of speed creation, but still maintains that signature Dynamic Gold DNA.
Tour Concept never really took off on the PGA Tour. Sure a few guys played it (I remember Stewart Cink being one of them) but they never really were adopted. Why do you think that was?

It sounds like DG AMT is not flighted at all, but the additional launch comes from simply having a lighter shaft. My guess is this is preferred by pros since all shafts in the set will feel the same. I remember guys like Mike Weir playing X100 in the mid/short irons and S300/400 in the 3-4 long irons back in the day. My bet is this is a similar concept.
Good question. While we had several players put Tour Convept into play, you're correct that it didn't have widespread success. Not sure why, but honestly it's just because some products simply do better than others on tour. This goes for clubs, shafts, grips, etc. When you're fortunate to see some quick success like we've seen with the new AMT, and alot of players will want to give it a look.

They mentioned possible 2016 release. But trying to get the word out on the tours first.

To see if they players like it. They obviously do.

Right now there are no plans to commercialize the shaft until 2016. We're scrambling just to keep up with the PGA Tour needs. Haven't even gotten it out on Web.com or European Tour yet. We'll definitely keep you all posted as more launch details are available.

We have only made a few dozen sets thus far so final production tolerances have not been set. But even with tolerances the weight progression will still be much more dramatic than the S200/300/400 set proposed here.

Can you post side by side data of DG X 100 and the DG AMT's

Trackman data 3-P same head robotic testing so us geeks could look at launch angle. ball speed, spin, apex, total distance in a side by side format?

Many Thanks

Retro
Hi Retro. I can completely understand and appreciate your desire to have Trackman numbers side by side with Dynamic Gold. At this point, the shaft is so far from being available to the public that we want to keep that data internal. We will certainly provide more specific information in the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned. Appreciate your question.

I would say yes, even though I never really had the chance to play it and I'm only going off what I heard about its performance. However, I do think it was probably the greatest looking steel shaft I've ever seen!

If these are any upgrade from the DG Pro's, which I loved to hit, I may be making a return to Dynamic Gold in the near future.

Chad......yes bring back the Black Gold. Still playing them now for the past 6 years. tried others but come back to the BG. Weight of shaft is still the primary factor i look at when trying shafts. When and if these new AMT become available will give them a go as well despite being the opposite in weight design as the BG.

With 2 wins in a row, golf central coverage, and the hype surrounding them in the forums here it will be hard to produce this hype later. Right now based on what I've read 2016 looks to be the release time frame. Hope the shafts continue to grow in popularity and more wins. We on golfwrx are definitely excited to get our hands on the latest and greatest and right now that seems to be True Temper's AMT golf shaft.

I've been playing golf an awful long time. I played with Dynamic Golds for more than ten years; maybe closer to 20! I was one of the early adopters for the first-generation Rifle shafts. They had some nice qualities as have all Rifles. For the last (almost) ten years, I have gone back to Dynamic, in the form of Dynamic Gold Lite.

There are good qualities to all of these shafts.

But I really think that for someone like me, a discerning recreational golfer who likes wedges with DG S200, and who actually enjoys his DGLite S300 in a 3 or 4 iron, this new DG AMT set is going to be the best ever.

I'd buy a set even without testing them if they were available today.

Seems if you want these shafts any time soon you have to make friends with some Tour Trailer guys.......and then again since Romero sh0t a cool 10 over at Houston maybe you could get his set...LOL...on the other hand Wagner made it to -7 and must be in love with his new AMT

Really great questions. A Masters win would be icing on the cake for sure but it still won't change our launch plans.

As far as having players under contract that's something we don't do...all players using TT shafts do so with no contract or compensation. Simply using names on the forum to give you the most accurate information possible.

Thanks for asking.

Leaning forward...and I don't know if this has already been asked so I apologize if it has.

Any plans to possibly push the same weight progression in a lighter shaft weight set? Would love to try these, but knowing where I am already at with the standard weight DG shafts weights, I fear these will still end up being slightly too heavy for what fits me best.
