The current Zurich Classic of New Orleans leader on his new Dynamic Gold AMT shafts -- "I've been struggling with my irons the past month and finally I got some shafts that work."

Today he fired an 8-under 64 with an eagle and 7 birdies. That's impressive.

If you were to compare with the X100 profile with the AMT profile would it be clear to say the AMT profile is just a weight distribution delta or are there specified bend profile differences ???

I am trying to find a replacement for my CTapers X and have struck out with Nippon in trying to find a more lighter weight option.

Ive played DG for the first 15 years of my playing golf but I cant find the same feel in any DG product that compares to CTapers...

I definitly want to try a set of S400's. Not sure if its been discussed yet, but have your guys improved on the durability of the shaft label? I have some older DG tours and the labels/silkscreen on each iron has virtually rubbed off totally.

Put me down as "interest highly peaked." I too, will volunteer to lab rat a set of X100 for GolfWRX. Played TT all my life and switched this year to KBS Tours with my AP2's. I like them but I don't love them or have a long standing relationship with them like I do Dynamic Gold and True Temper. I am also located in MS so to be able to "buy local" forges my loyalty even more. So, just drop me a line when you want me to come get them and I'll be there...

Hi RL,

The difference with AMT is specifically the weight change throughout the set. The bend profile is the same from long iron to short iron. Our ability to modify the internal reinforcement through our VWT (variable wall technology) allows us to maintain precise balance point throughout even with the 3 gram increase in weight through the set. DG Pro uses three different stepping patterns to achieve a progressive bend point, and thus launch progression. These AMT's are different obviously, with progressive weight but a consistent stepping pattern. AMT will feel different, lighter in the long irons.

I'd be curious to hear how the AMT's would MOI match. Seems to me that they would be pretty much ideal for that sort of thing.

I'm also curious. I don't know but would suspect the weight distribution / balance points were designed around maintaining a const SW throughout the set with the stand iron head weight progressions. Hopefully the TT folks can chime in and answer that.

There's a lot of stuff that takes the tour by storm. Recently SLDR, RBZ fairways, Rogue, KuroKage XT, Fuji Speeder Pro to name a few. Also, would they make an S400 equivalent? or just S300's? If the goal is to vary weight wouldn't it really just be R, S, X and you could pick your starting point and your ending point you wanted for weight? ie, if you want S400, just hardstep the S300 version so your shafts are heavier essentially arriving at what would be an S400.

The thing we are most excited about is the adoption of the shaft by players using competitive product. Toms, Renner, Austin, DL III, Every, Wagner, jj Henry, Weekley and Scott were all playing various competitive shafts...7 were Nippon, one graphite and one KB. We were also thrilled to get Mahan back this week...switched to PXi. Appreciate everyone's interest. We'll keep you guys updated as we have more to share.
