I miss the excitement of new club releases from Nike. No other company got me going like Nike club teasers that they would post on social.

The one club I wished I'd tested and played at the time. They look (still) incredible and so much more playable than other wedges of the time. I tested them and more or less overnight they stopped making hard goods. By the time I made a decision I couldn't find three wedges in the correct lofts.

 

Despite some donkeys, they occasionally came out with a world beater. Still regret not taking them more seriously at the time.

I have 2 backup sets of engage wedges. My VPC’s are rock steady and my Origin is going strong but may be out with a proper putter fitting (if it ever happens). The VFP driver was long but I didn’t hit it high enough or well enough and the JPX 900 is suiting me well there for driver and 3 wood.

The Engages will be around for a while, I have a Vapor Fly 5w that is not going anywhere anytime soon. The Vapor Fly 2iron is my driving iron when I need one. The only Nike club I will look to replace is the Vapor Speed driver. Never really got along with it but just need to start testing newer driver/shaft combos

Just picked up Vapor Fly D, 3, 5 in Tensei Stiff. Have had the VFP and 3, 5, in diamana X and they launched way too low. Hoping this little experiment works out and I can launch higher and get a touch more forgiveness out of the driver and fairway. Would give me an all Nike bag back once more.

Im totally opposite. I got xstiff whiteboard on my vfp and got xstiff vpc. Xstiff on the driver gave me the longest and straightest result. I was bombing 310-330 2 weeks ago.

When I had it, had to open my driver to max degrees (12.5??) and even then, I would hit low. Maybe 12* of launch. My AOA is pry horrendous but I’m hoping the VF launches a little higher. However, we’ll struck balls with the VFP were some of my longest, just too few and far between. My JPX 900 haunches higher at 10.5 than my VFP at 12.5 despite having a lower launching Speeder Evo II X shaft in it ??‍♂️

 

So hoping this little expirament works out alright yet.

 

I didn’t get along very well with the diamana s+ shaft. Felt like I had to swing with all I had to get it to flex just right for impact. Hoping the Tensei is a solution.

My shots are usually high draws, so I have to open to the right sometimes and keep it at 8.5 or 9.5. My AOA is way too positive lol. I've been working on my swing with xstiff, so normal and 9.5 is good for me for now.

We had a Vapor Fly 3 HL traded in a few days ago. Decided I needed a backup fairway wood and snagged it. I liked it when I had one before and the Nike nostalgia was too much to pass up.

I've gotten along really well with my VF 3w / Rombax P95 combo. So much so that I have an extra head waiting for when this one is worn out.

Is anyone still gaming the VR Pro Blades? I have a set and also a set of the Vapor Pro’s and I’m pretty sure there are others in the same boat as me. I thought that the VRs were way better feeling than the Vapors. Now I have a set of damn near brand new Vapors just sitting around and I’m half tempted to keep them just because Nike isn’t making clubs anymore. Anyone else have the same results with their switch?

Now I have a set of damn near brand new Vapors just sitting around and I'm half tempted to keep them just because Nike isn't making clubs anymore. Yup! I game the VR Pro blades and have a back-up set for when these wear out or get bumped around in the bag too much. Also have the Nike OG blades and the Vapor Pro blades (with a 4 and 5 iron of the VPCs to get some help at the long end). The VR Pro and Nike OG are way better in terms of feel, control and performance, though the Vapor Pros are pretty good too.

 

Love these clubs so much, and they are not going anywhere!

Yeah I wish I could get another set of the VRs to have a second set but I can’t find any in good condition that are within reasonable price range.

Vr Pros were awesome and so were the vapors. I like the feel of both of them and I wished I kept my vr pros and stockpiled a few sets

Lost the love for my driving iron a few weeks back and was rummaging the local 2nd Swing golf looking for a new one. Ran across a Nike VR Pro #2 Hybrid for $39.99 that looked like it never had been hit. Figured why not......As I get to the counter to check out the kid goes hang on a minute and grabs a brand new matching head cover for it. Took it to the range and fell in love. Long and strait off the tee and very easy to hit from just about any decent lie.

I've just moved to a set after 13 years with the OG Blades, so other sets are out there, I just had to wait a while to find a set with S400s. Totally worth the wait, best set of irons I've ever hit, including various Mizuno, Miuras and Vegas.

 

Crazy forgiving for blades - I hit an 8 iron out the toe yesterday, looked up expecting it to end up way short and right, it came down about 5 yards short of where I was intending it to.

 

Never tried the Vapor Pros, at this rate I will get to them in around 2027 :)

I have always wanted the Vapor Pro irons. I almost got them new on Global Golf last year for around $300 but never pulled the trigger and have always regretted it.
