Personal best - 40/41 for an 81. :D

1 birdie, 7 pars (also new personal best), 9 bogeys, 1 double bogey - just missed my first round without a double. Had a birdie putt on #9 for my first ever sub-40 for 9 holes and misread it. Still happy to take a 40 since that was my lowest 9 ever.

This is the same course where I shot 97 on Friday. :bad:

Monte's clinic in June can't get here fast enough. I am really looking forward to it.

After dinner 9 yesterday

Easy muni, winter tees are up by the Reds

Been driving it well so figured I'd score well from there

Single, got paired with one regular, plays quick, he and I walking

Caught up to a 2some in a cart on 2nd tee box

1. Almost drove green, chipped up to 6 ft, missed the birdie

2. Fat 9i on a par 3, chipped up and 2 putts

3. Hardest hole, drove it right, over 2 bunkers to middle of green, 2 putt par

4. Easy par 5, here's where it falls apart. Pin high in 2, right rough, chip up and 3 putt from 15ft.

Old guy in cart, OGIC, takes somewhere between 3 and 1000 practice swings every shot, putts included. Young guy in cart, YGIC, skulls at least 3 chips back and forth every hole.

#7 is a straight away par 5. Last time I played here, a guy choked/had a heart attack and died in the middle of the fairway, separate thread.

This time were on the green waiting for Jason Days grandpa to open his eyes and putt , when Mr White Belt-everything in my bag says Titleist, in the group behind us, airmails a ball directly over our heads on the green.

I pass this DB on the next fairway and let him know that I didn't appreciate that crap, he obviously knows better.

I lose the will to live in the middle of the round , and stumble in with 4 more bogeys and a par.

On the bright side, I'm not happy with a 42 anymore, so things must be getting better. Also, didn't lose a ball.

About a thousand unfortunately (slightly exaggerated but I haven't sniffed mid 90's in a while so that's what it felt like.) Although it was the second round of the year and it was 44* with 15-25 mph winds, so I shouldn't have expected much.

My driving was actually decent, Irons abandoned me, my short game, for whatever reason, was what I pray for it to be most days.. was making great contact with wedge shots and had to discontinue 4-5 balls just from chewing them apart with wedges. ZERO three putts as well. Too bad the most important, and generally most consistent part of my game decided to not show up.

Played 36 on Saturday and shot 78/78, morning round 39/39, short game got me, afternoon round 40/38, felt a bit tired and I was losing shots left in the front, got it together a bit better on the back 9, bogeyed 10 (Par4) and 11(Par3) then went all pars to close out...

Walked the same local muni I played Sunday, still on winter tees....

1. Drove it to the fringe, chip up, miss the 6 footer for birdie, tap in par....this is starting to feel familiar.

2. Par 3 Chunk it to front of the green... Huge green, pin in back, 3 putt bogey.

3. Drive it right side, pull a 9 iron, chip two putts, bogey

4. Par 5 pop up drive 100 yards, lay up 7 iron in front of water, 5 wood to green side bunker, out on to green, lip the 15ftr , tap in bogey.

5. Smoke a drive down the left side, gw to fringe, putt from fringe lips out to 5 ft, miss the come backer, bogie

6. Par 3 , 8 iron to fringe, pin about 8 ft , chip in for birdie,

7. Par 5. Great drive, 5 wood to edge of green side bunker, chunk a chip, chip on, miss 8 footer for par, cheap bogie

8. Hole of the day, pull drive into trees left, kicks back and left to 9 fairway, 240 to green, smoke the Vsteel to pin high rough, chip to 8 ft, uphill putt dies at the cup and falls in for par.

9. 230 to front, water short right, smoke the Vsteel again, leaks right, kicks right into water. Drop, chip on short, lag to about 4 ft, miss the bogey, only double of the day.

Another doggone 42, it's like the movie Groundhog Day at this point.

If the putter ever wakes up I'll be happy.

72 (Par 65) on Easter morning. No one in front or behind me.

Most memorable hole was 285 yards with water on the right guarding the green. Pushed my 3W right into the next fairway. Had about 150 left to carry the water, so 170ish to right pin location (closest to the water). I wasn't particularly striking all that well, so i wouldnt be surprised if i thinned a 6i to get over the water. Anyways, best swing of the day came from that second shot...flushed baby draw right to the pin. One hop role into the back bunker. Best bogey in recent play.

Smooth 97. Played the first 12 holes in 8 over, which isn't bad for me. Last 6 holes I was 17 over, with 2 quads, 2 triples, a double, and a bogey. Not sure what happened, but it was ugly.

Snake I thought you were dead.....and say the score aint so bro.

First round up on tees, hdcp season started 1st

First 4 holes 1 over, next 5 in 8 over

3 doubles in a row

Back nine, took a 7 on par 3 10th

Played next 8 with 7 bogeys and 1 birdie.

Smooth 91, that's about 5 worse than my course hdcp.

Lost $6 with a 3 putt on 18 to make it worse.

Made some course management mistakes, and caught a couple bad hops that could have turned out better. Ball striking wise, felt like a much better round.

Played as bad as the course was playing. Shot a 49 +14 for 9. Hit the ball ok but couldn't make a putt. Not suprised as I have shot 49 a thousand times it seems. The greens were so bumpy not sure how bad I really played.

Well, today was chilly, with a high of 47-48° with 10-15mph wind and I Played well, carding a 69 from the blues(Par 71, 6542yds, 71.7/134) at Richard's club, the Pittsburgh Field Club, where I had a Playing lesson, with my student breaking 100 for the first time with a 96. I realize that it is not the same as him being out there without assistance or suggestions, however I believe that Michael learned today how to think his way around a course. He definitely hits the ball much better than a 100+ scorer and I believe that he was now thinking instead of just pulling clubs from his bag based solely on how far he hits them and how far he is from the green/target. Have a nice week and as Richard would say, fairways & greens 4ever my friends :) Maddie

Rough day yesterday with an 87, but it was 25 sustained and gusts to 40.

I flushed a 3 iron from 160, landed on back edge, pured a 6 iron from 129 to pin high.

When it blows like that, any side spin on the ball and you are done. I normally hit a straight ball, but the wind got in my head, lost focus for part of the round. It was mostly just bogey;s, but a lot of em.

Wind like that can get ya.

Started the day with an 83. Was so upset with my putting and chipping, had to go back for another round. Second round was a new career low of 76.

Golf is such a weird game. Hit the ball noticeably worse the second round, but my putting and chipping was on form and the results were amazing, for me. Guess it really is putt for dough...

Started my weekly golf league tonight with a 47. Pretty disappointed with this overall. I got there late and didn't have time to warm up properly so I was really stiff going in and it showed with the amount of times I topped my shots. I did manage to get a birdie on a par 5 which I was pretty happy with. Had 4 three putts though so I know what I'll be working on between now and next week.

Played gold tees with the old guys today

Driver length got me in trouble a couple times, going through doglegs etc.

Started Dbl, then 4 pars,dbl, bogey,par 41 on front

Back was a disaster 48

89, 22 differential, wrong direction on the hdcp

Even from golds, it's over 5900 yards, so not a complete pushover. Slick greens with a lot of break.

Shot a 77 the other day prepping for the upcoming City Am Tourney. I was trying something different and hitting my driver and woods off of tees I normally play a bit more conservatively from. The score could have been a bit lower, but I bogyed the first 3 holes and from 195 yards out on an uphill par 5 hit it into the water for another bogey.
