What Did You Shoot Today? (Continuation)

1t2golf

Recommended Posts

Managed to squeeze in 12 holes the other night in 2 hours. Walked onto the 9th tee and i had only hit 29 shots. Proceeded to hook the tee shot and make a smooth triple. Shaggy 12 hour old greens got me on probably 4 holes. Actually lipped out on 2 and 3 or i would have been 4 under after 3. Turns out golf is much more enjoyable when you don't have to manufacture something to find the green. Cant remember playing until dark since i was in high school and thinking this was going to be my career. It was for a while, just not playing.

Left my driver in my truck (we are not getting along) and tee'd off with my 19* hyrbrid all day and Played one of my best 9 hole rounds last week! Short course on the front 9 but ill take it!

#1 395yd par 4- Par with a missed 10ft birdie putt
#2 178 yd par 3- my blowup hole, mishit a 7 iron which left me a horrible flop shot attempt. Scored a 5 :(
#3 305yd par 4- Par with a missed 15ft birdie putt
#4 297 yd par 4- Par with a missed 20ft birdie putt
#5 402 yd par 4- Bogey (missed the green and my chip sucked left me a long putt that I missed)
#6 500 yd par 5- Mishit tee shot cost me a double bogey all other shots were fine
#7 410 yd par 4 - Par with a missed 12 ft birdie putt
#8 400 yd par 4 - Par with a missed 20 ft birdie putt
#9 123yd par 3- Par with a missed 20ft birdie putt

Shot a 5 over 40 which I think easily could have been a 38. I know its not anything great but me breaking into the 30's is a awesome. I really just need to get my approach shots a little closer and dial them in so I can have some easier birdie puts. The mis hits off the tee, I know that's going to happen every once in a while. Some golfwrx members have helped me with my steep swing and it has improved my game by 3 or 4 strokes in the past month so thank you all for that!

Here's how the other 99% live

Wide open 9 hole muni

1 short par 4 3wood, GW to 10ft, make the birdie

2 short par 3 spray 8 iron to the short side, chip to middle green 2 putt bogey

3 hardest hole , DL left par 4. Pulled drive, pushed 6 iron into green side waste area. Chip up, make the par putt

4 par 5 water up front
Good drive, 5wood past green left, chunked it into bunker, flew green getting out, chip and a putt for bogey

5 straight par 4. Hit a Kevin na pull hook off tee, don't clear a big oak on the recovery, GW to 15' , 4putt! For a triple, completely blew up

6 long par 3. Played it safe, middle of green, 2 putt par

7 par 5. Average drive, pulled 3wood pin high left rough, chip up , 2 putt par

8 par 4 straight away. Decent drive, chunked 8 iron, chip to a foot, par

9 shortish par 4 dog left , trees guarding left side. Pulled drive straight into trees, kicked back 30yds, punch 5 underneath to 60 yards, airmailed 56deg 20 yds past pin, 3 putts for a double

Smooth 42 lol

Greens had just been punched, wasn't too bad, they were top dressed with sand, but got some bad hops on the longer putts

Best round of my life at 75 and my first under-par 9 hole score. Still not sure how I managed it. Lipped out an eagle putt on #9 after driving the green. If I'd ever hit any approaches near the pin I could turn some two-putts into one-putts. Pretty happy after having to grind out the first three holes...

Played a great round today even par on a tough private club in my area. Par 70 with a 72 rating and 135 slope

Made 4 birdies . 2 bogeys and a double .
This greens has some seriously fast and sloped greens and I didn't three putt once . Made one bad swing with that driver that led to my double other than that I was never in any real trouble

Congrats! Nice round, with a solid back 9.

On the scorecard, there are black and white, up and down arrows between the yardages. I've never seen that before. What do they mean?

Combine a 42 from earlier in the week, with a glorious 47 today after work.

All bogeys and doubles, finished with 2 pars.

Started snap hooking the driver after fighting the slice earlier in the year, started hitting it straight or little fade for a couple months, now this!

Couldn't get the putter working either

This is a wide open course, or I would've lost 5 or 6 drives OB instead of 1.

This round move my index back up .3 trending, first time it's moved the wrong direction all year.

Fairway hit, or missed with arrow indicating what side you missed to

Guessing the X is OB

Not what I'm talking about. Look at the printed yardages and there are small black or white triangles pointing to the yardage for the tee above or below it.

I've never even noticed that, but I assume it's because they move the locations from time to time and sometimes group them together? They actually pushed the tees forward a few years ago, from what I understand, because the course was playing so long from the tips.
[/quote]
That would make sense. The only thing I could think of was the course might have ratings for "hybrid" tees (i.e.- mix of black and blue, blue and white, etc...).
Yeah, that course looks like a beast. Just noticed you were from Denver, so I guess the elevation helps.

they are the mixed tees the arrow points to the tee that you play from on that hole.

76. Lots of missed opportunities on the greens including a couple 3 putts. The greens are plugged and the pins have been in the same spot for 3+ weeks. Needless to say I was on the losing end of a lot of bounces. Managed to win the match 2+1 from the blue tees vs the white tee champ. One more match against the gold tee champ to determine club champion.

75 with 35 putts (and no 3 putts). Sad thing is half the greens i missed were par 3's with 7 iron or shorter in my hand. If i could putt it easily could have been in the 60's.

Score was higher than I would have liked Friday on the RTJ Lakes course. I was disappointed with my number until I did a little mental replay of the round and found there were plenty of quality shots. There were several near misses that well placed traps added some shots to that a mere few feet would have made quality and shots that could have saved plenty of strokes.
