Shot 82 in the first round of club championship today. Good enough for T-6. Leader shot even par 72. 36 holes tomorrow.....

82 in round 1 of club championship. Been playing in it for 4 years and have shot between 77 and 85. However, the cool part of the story is that my 14 year old son beat me by one stroke today with an 81. Proud, but a little bruised and might make his mother drive him to round 2 tomorrow.

Our club championship today and tomorrow also. 36 hole event. Shot 85 with a 7 and an 8. I'm tied for first in my flight and have the sole gross lead in my flight. Broke 80 at my club for the first time ever last Friday with a 79. Played the very next day and shot 75. I swear I felt like the Bishop from Caddyshack. Have Played several hundred rounds there. Had only shot 80 once and probably a dozen or so 81s. Game really turning a corner. Glad the GHIN revision isn't scheduled til Monday. I'm going from 13.3 index to around a 10/11 I think. My first post here. Been lurking around a bit but....anyway, hope I can get under 80 for the third time ever, tomorrow. For the win, well, the flight two win....which is actually like the flight three win since it goes Championship, 1,2,3. I'll take it though. If I can fire a score.

Played a late afternoon 18 today with a buddy of mine and my 10 year old daughter. She drops on the green and putts. My golf buds are older guys with grand children and are great with my daughter. In fact, she won't even ride with me. Our course has a much easier front nine but I shot a 45 that was the easiest score I have ever tallied. ALL 5's and nothing else! First time I have done that. Made the turn and got it going. Had a birdie I shouldn't have made and then missed two I should have made. Ended up shooting a 37 for my all time best score on the back nine. Really pleased to turn a bad start into a solid round for me. I am pleased that my rounds are getting into the low 80's.

A 4over 76. I could have easily shot my record at this course, but I hit one drive OB and had 2 3putt bogeys, and bogeyed 2 par 5's. I was frustrated.

got my 915D2 in and put it in play. great round with a few too many putts IMO. would like to see that number go down. rained overnight so the green speeds were inconsistent. still happy to lower my handicap from 10.2 to 9.8. stuck the greens but need to work on my approach shots.

Weekend scores. I played Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Shot 84 on Friday, 80 on Saturday, and a 103 on Sunday. I was hung over on Sunday and didn't belong anywhere near a golf course. Saturday though was great, couple more pars and it would have been a new personal best. Thought I was going to get it too, but I bogied 4 out 5 of the last 5 holes.

Walked it. Florida is hot! Haha. I played it a few weeks back and had redemption on the signature hole #7. I learned to take one less club. The Lightning horn blew when I was on the 18th green. The last two holes we picked up the pace and my tempo suffered.

I worked 16.25 hours yesterday and finished up at 0215, in my call room and asleep at 0230. Thank goodness I didn't get called for another case because my tee time was at 0850 at a play I never played before.

 

No time for warm ups.

 

Shot 38-41 for a 79. I'm happy about that.

Putts were 12-14=26 really happy about that

Fairways 6/7 & 2/7 fot 8/14 i'm ok with that. Only 2 really bad misses from the tee.

GIR terrible!!! 2/9 and 2/9 .. Horrendous. I couldn't figure out the wind.

 

Anyway, I was happy about my round

Last 3 rounds 84 (45 - 39) 86 (46 - 40) 84 (44 - 40) Can't seem to get that front nine down. Loved the 86 the most. Played on a tougher course than the 1st one on the home course. The last was on a somewhat mix of the two courses and was a somewhat of a fluke.

79 with only 7 GIR. I was scrambling all day long. Made a nice birdie on the second-toughest hole, though. Can't seem to get off the tee very well lately.

A 7over 77. I was 3under thru 5. Ouch. I carried my bag as a foursome and it was 95* and took just over 5 hours. I completely fell apart.

It always feels good to back up a terrible round with a good one. I have been playing the best golf of my life this summer, down to a 2hc. I haven't shot about 79 all summer, and then last weekend I went to play an easier course that I planned on going low on. Well, I was a complete mess and shot a 10 over 81. Lost on the tee, ditched the driver for 3wood, then ditched 3wood and back to driver. I was flipping and scooping all of my irons for extremely weak fades. The only thing that kept me at 10 over was my short game. I got up and down multiple times and had a lot of 2putts from long distances. If I had been able to hit decent iron shots within 20 feet of the cup I could have a decent score. The next round I played was at a much tougher course and I shot 1 over. After the 81 I thought I had lost my swing. A quick turn around feels good. An 81 might not sound too bad to some, but it was the ugliest 81 you will ever see.

I tied my personal best today. I have a 16 s.i. and shot an 82. I normally play from the blues and shoot mid-high 80's but have a tournament coming up and my flight we will be hitting from the whites. Only bad thing is I shot 3 over on the last 2 holes to close it out.

Second round (bye in first round) of club championship first flight (not championship flight) I won 9&7.

 

I once lost a match after starting 6 up and I just kept telling myself that was not happening today. We were within one stroke of index but he played poorly and I shot +2 over the fist nine holes (so well for an 8 index). Only hole I lost was because of a lazy pulled wedge on hole 8. Made two birdies one of which was a 20 footer for birdie on #3 to beat his par.

 

Good thing I took care of business quickly because I went 35-42 on same course the day before.

Pretty happy and "of course" I left about 4 or 5 shots out there. Lol

snuck in a last minute spontaneous 9 holes today with a friend (never played with him before). It was one of those days where everything went right and I shot a 39!! Best round so far...Wish I had the time to play the back 9 to keep it going!

Played in two tournaments this weekend. Both were about 6300 yards and a best ball format. My team yesterday came in at 3 under par and it was my dad and I doing the dirty work. Today my team came in 7 under and I did most of the ball striking and the other guys did the putting. Putting has not been my strong suit recently. I feel like I can't find a loose stroke my my putter. I feel I need to help it too much. Was pretty cool. On one of the holes they had an air canon that you used to launch the ball to a 350 yard green! If all four players paid the fee to try the launch then you were garunteed a 15 foot eagle putt regardless of where it landed. Needless to say we ended up getting a birdie lol.
