89 on a par 72. Finally broke 90! great feeling, being that i know i had what it takes currently. I also left about 4 strokes on the course with stupid mistakes. So i know i have what it takes to stay shooting mid 80's. All in couraging with some better practice and another lesson or two.

Shot a 74 yesterday (37/37). Played really well except for 2 loose shots which cost me as I went Ob on both. 70 would have been my low score. Oh well, irons were pretty good all day, wedges were great (1st round with them), but driver was a little erratic all day.

Even par 72. Lipped out birdie putts on 16&17 and left a birdie putt half a roll short on 18. A great/kind of frustrating 72. I've come to realize that the better I get, the harder it is to be 100% satisfied.

After a month of struggling, finally got back in a groove this week with a 78,75, then yesterday with a 71.

After hovering around it for the last month or two, I finally broke par for the first time ever today. Went even/one-under.

On the other hand I'm 44 and still can't beat my dad (he's got game). But I'm gunning for him.

Blame it on playing early in the morning which my playing partner and I usually don't do. First 5-6 holes were horrendous for us both. He did end up with an eagle on the 4th hole though so the day wasn't completely wasted.

Shot an unofficial 1-under 71. I was testing a couple putters and had 13 clubs + 3 putters in the bag so it doesn't really count.

 

I was 4-under through my first 10 and just couldn't make a putt through the last 8 holes. I missed putts of 6, 7, 4 & 3 feet on 11, 14, 17 & 18. I needed birdie at the par 5 18th to shoot my first round ever in the 60s but I made a complete disaster out of that hole. Tried to kill my tee shot and hooked it onto a fairway bunker. Then, I tried to take too much on out of the bunker and hit the lip (luckily got out but still had 250y to the hole). Hit a really good 3w to the front edge and 3 putted from 30 feet.

71 Best day I have had in awhile, been fighting a wrist injury all summer and could not release my driver. Played in a best 2 of 4 closing event had an eagle for a skin and a closest to the pin 3ft 5 in from 175. Could of had another hit it to 3 feet from 140 and got beat by 3 inches. Hit it great all day, if I would of made some putts it would of been 60 something. Took my proshop credit and got a few pair of Linksoul shorts. Pretty good day.

Played (yesterday) in a "one-day" championship tournament for the VSGA ( we played one box up from the tips at around 6300 yards). Shot 67 with 7 birdies and 3 bogeys. 11 one putts, 12 greens hit, won by 7 shots and its my lowest round ever. Still pretty pumped about it, watching the Ryder Cup before bed certainly helped me out.

I went out in 52, and played the back nine in 36.

Did it again last week - 16 strokes better on the back 9. Out in 54, back in 38. Very windy on a tricky course I've never played before. The greens were fast, and it took a while to adjust, and I figured out my swing a bit on the back too. It was windy enough that the ball was sometimes dancing on the tee.

83 yesterday. But I hit the ball terribly. I mean I sucked. Erratic off the tee, poor iron play.

Chipped and putted well. If I wasn't a decent putter, I'd have to quit......maybe.

a triple doesn't help. had some chipping woes around the greens on a few holes which led to bogeys and doubles. got an eagle on 10 though. decent drive in the fairway and spanked my 3W to about 15ft and drained it! was the highlight of the round. need to work on chipping off thin lies close to the hole which has always given me troubles and approach shots need to at least give me a putting chance on the dance floor. i shot in the high 70's low 80's at this course consistent.

Played after work yesterday and shot my personal best, 73. 3 birdies and was -1 on the back nine, first time doing that. Swing felt great and got up and down a good amount too. All the work I've been putting into my swing and short game finally paid off.

Shot a -1 71, and was -3 through 14 holes - haven't broke 70 in 12 years, so went into hyperdrive and overswinging cost me two bogies on the way in. Lots to learn - swing within yourself, no matter the circumstance.

I shot a 79 which is the lowest I have shot on this course with 27 putts. (First round with new Tour BB8.) Hitting 2-3 buckets almost daily and playing more has improved my game immensely.

I was playing solid on the second round yesterday also, but ran out of gas at about the 8 hour mark of the day and made 3 bogeys coming in.

I had a rough day yesterday. Shot a 99 started with a birdie which was great but two 8s on the back had a 46 out 53 in so that hurt. Driver was sporadic all day, chipping and putting were great though. That's why I love the game and have become obsessed. I know I am never going to be a tour player but I think not playing well makes it even more addicting because I want to improve so much. We shall see what this weeks round or rounds if I'm lucky bring.

Played yesterday and finally shot even par 72. Shot +2 in the front and -2 in the back nine. Finished birdie bogey birdie so felt good to get a birdie on the last hole to shoot even par. I'm going to move back to the blue tees and try to get to par again from there.

Snuck out and played 9 last night after work with a friend it was very windy out but too nice still to pass up, we were playing match play and I shot my first ever round under par,(9 or 18) with a bogey on the 18th for a (-2) 34, previous best was 36 on each side in separate occasions. Playing that well already has me extremely excited for next season though!

Had a nice day today at a tiny/tight par 62 course near the office I've played several times:

 

 

 

as you can see, 4 3-putts going out (started at #10) really didn't help, but finished strong coming in. best i've played this course, which is TOUGH.

I have basically a whole new bag, 11 clubs had not seen grass yet, and 2 of the other 3 had been with me for a couple rounds at most. I had very limited expectations, especially with the conditions (about 5" of rain in the last 2 weeks). Ultimately, I played pretty well, left a few shots out there, wish I could replay the first 2 holes as I just didn't get loose and blocked on out to the right off of the 1st tee, and caught a really bad break on 2 where I chipped it and it landed in a soft spot or something and just stuck right there.

 

Front 9

I arrived about 8 minutes before tee time so no warmup, started bogey-bogey, but then settled in and had 5 straight 2-putt pars before a birdie at 8. Just missed another very makeable birdie at 9 to make the turn at +1 37

 

Back 9

Had a great 2-putt from 60+ feet on 10 and just missed good chances at 11/12. 13 is the hardest hole on the course and I was greenside in 2, but had a terrible chip and made bogey there. Then, I 3-putted from 15 feet on 14 and missed another short one on 15 for 3 straight bogeys. Drained a 15 footer on 16 to get one back. Nearly chipped in on 17, tapped in for par and headed to the long 18th. It is a 500y+ par 5 with bunkers left/right of the landing area and the green has a pond left and big bunkers right. I completely crushed my drive down the right side and had 176y to a middle-left flag. A perfect 6i left me with about 15 feet for eagle, which I left one rotation short.

Took the morning off to play. Shot 84. This is my first year playing more than 3 times a year. Started the season out shooting 110-115 range, towards the end I was around 95-97 on a good day.

 

Never broke 90 before. Was a hell of a morning!
