MD/VA/DC Golfers - Ten Seconds or Less

Had some New Balance Golf Shoes on lookout on eBay. Decided to pull the trigger once they got below 50 bucks per. Nabbed me a Red/White pair and a Grey Pair. Who knows what that might net me through Ebates refund.

Also put in an offer on a used Black and Orange Clicgear.

I feel this is lacking details that we expect from your "buys"

Considering it was just me cruising around and not really expecting to buy anything. I guess you have a point. Although, I had been looking at the New Balance shoes for a few months and seeing them on eBay helped with final procurement.

The bid on the clicgear was an interest bid, but not wanting to pay his price or full price on a clicgear. He countered to give the grand total what he was asking for before shipping, I countered for 10 dollars less. He returns the same price as it was his final asking price and bottom dollar. I decided it was fair, accepted and sent payment.

Slight shiggles were had, money was lost, but it's been a pretty cool weekend for my Golf Expenditures.

G827- I could've saved you more than $60. But whateves. At least you got something you've been wanting.

Go figure, think I got a good deal and Eagle blitzes with this. Guess it's retaliation for my blitz of FAbb's Golf Galaxy trip yesterday.

Me and Sully head to head at Waverly this morning. 9AM tee time. 32F.

Tough conditions.frozen fairways. frozen greens. I mean, hit the green and watch the ball bound away.

Basically, first hole I had about 125 in and just decided whether I wanted to miss the green long or miss the green short. Rinse, repeat.

It was a fun match. The goal was basically to land the ball in the front fringe and hope it hopped up on. Lots of bogeys made from good positions.

Both of us hit the ball pretty well all day. Plenty of pars but Sull's short game let him down too much and I got him 3&1 for a beer.

On 18, I made him an offer....If he beat me out right, he doesn't have to buy the beer. If I beat him outright, I get one of his K_sigs.

We're both about 50 yards out in 2 and Sully's short game issues bit him. #newKSig.

He was hitting it nicely though. a world better than even a year ago. he sank a couple of 12-15 footers, too to keep the match alive. Match was 3&1 but I've been playing a ton and hit the ball well today. I basically didn't miss a single full shot all day.

Good times out there. City is exaggerating. We paid $39, so it was 34* when teeing off, not 32*. Was cold for a few holes but was pretty comfortable by the 4th or 5th. Not many people out on the course, so we breezed through in under 3.5 hours without really pushing it. 3.5 doesn't really sound impressive, but that's a sub-3 round at a more walkable course. I remarked to City that the toughness of the walk at Waverly probably keeps a lot of people home on days like today, where walking is comfortable but riding in a cart is cold.

I was hitting the ball relatively well. Hit an ugly hook OB on #17 to quickly end the match 3&1 when I was getting strokes on 17 and 18. Otherwise good though. Distance-wise I was out there with City off the tee, which I haven't been in the past. The left hand low putter experiment was working pretty well after the first few holes. Made some good length putts and hit my lines on nearly every putt. It was the first time I hit a chip since I played a month ago with Eagle at MD National. It showed, in case no one has seen the video yet. Not shown on video is that I also hit a bunch of trashy wedge shots. I was inside 90 yards 4 or 5 times and came up short of the green with a mega-fat wedge. Made triple on 1 from 80 yards out with a combination of the wedge and chipping game. Came in at 94 that could have been an 86 with my normal chipping game (which isn't good). Nothing to write home about, but I was happy with it for a round in February.

City's game seems to be going in the right direction. I honestly can't tell what's different with his swing, but he's hitting mostly fades now instead of draws. The misses he had were fine though, compared to the smother hook that occasionally reared its head when he missed.

I went to the show again, just because had nothing better to do and wanted to see if anything was marked down more……and based off the mention of the JPX 900 drivers in the last page I peaked at them. The 850 and 900 look really really good and I have been reading awesome things. Anybody have actual experience with one?

I think Im going to keep an eye out for a 5w, and keep the UDI on a short leash this early season. Its an amazing club off the tee when you hit it well and if I can tune it in and get it consistent it could take the question really out with it. But thanks for all the suggestions, they were really helpful.

Walked with pq and sneek for 9 holes at the Beck. I just hit pitches and putts at the greens. Knee feels good and I was intentionally walking up and down hills to test it. Could probably walk 18 with no issue at this point. No issues with half wedge swings. Looking good.

Sneek didn't have his A game, but I was impressed at his short game skills. Good February golf. He's going to play more than any of us not named Kent in 2017. Handi will fall.

Earthquake had some of the best swings I've ever seen from him. It's all about the Spangle. He keeps that Spangle tight, high fade bombs off the tee. And with the irons. Kick in bird on 16 with a tee ball that never left the stick.

Plus one amazing Instagram video of those two on 15 tee.

That's awesome news. Seems like the recovery is going right on schedule.

Enjoying the end of the WM. Solid leaderboard and some fun finishing holes to watch.

Awesome that you are already out walking, that is pretty amazing for...a month or so after? Really good stuff.

I got out for a couple hours this afternoon. It rapidly warmed up and the Windlite was way too warm. A little windy but the course was empty, maybe people getting ready for Super Bowl parties, I dont know. I hit the ball really well from the fairway, tempo is really starting to come around. I was talking to Fabb the other day, I think if you can hit balls or play even once a week in the winter, it makes a huge difference.

Noticed that the quality of the Epic SZ fairway soles is straight garbage. The "sticker" on the back of the sole starts tearing after you hit two or three shots with off the tee. Junk.

Hideki has hit some ridiculous drives on #18. The TV angle makes it look crazier I bet. The first one I saw him hit, it just looked like he pulled it straight in to the water. Then it went, and went, and went. 330ish carry.

I thought the same thing - looked like it went straight in the water.

Then when it looks like it's straight down the middle it's through the fairway in a bunker.

Also funny how he never likes any shot, but they end up okay or even good mostly. I was thinking if he didn't pause so long at the top, he wouldn't give people a chance to yell a complete phrase during his swing.

Was nice to see Typhoon out there today. He is very manly. Was a beautiful day to be out there. Warm with a slight breeze. Greens are very bumpy and slow. Hit the tee ball mostly well again today. Short game was good. Iron game was average. Fatted 3 shots today from 100. That doesn't make EQ happy. Moves the Richter scale.

Wonder what Webb was thinking there. Hideki has 10-15 feet for birdie, and Webb made a play where his absolute best shot is going to leave him 30 feet for birdie. PGA guys may be only 25-40% from that 10-15 range, which isn't huge. But that seems like to much risk to take. Should have chipped it.

I honestly had no idea how chipping wasn't the choice there either. Putting was such a career shot, and small percentage that I would have thought chipping could have done much better. But then again what do I know.

Did anyone really believe the falcons were underdogs?

Obviously, 21-0 was never thought about but they quietly played like studs throughout the season
