Played Crane's Landing yesterday. Not a bad little track. Got a great deal on a GN Hot Deal ($18). Front nine was relatively short and easy. I struggled a bit more on the back. 86 for me, for the first time in the 80s in a while. Might need to play there more often for a confidence boost )

Oh, what a wonderful day on the links. Just finished 36 holes at Dubs. I was paired with a twosome early this morning, but they never showed. So, off I go solo, and after playing through 2 groups, it's clear sailing. Nice.

The course is in great shape, no surprise. They dialed the greens back. Speedy, but not crazy fast. I totally agree that the greens have less break than your eyes tell you. Only made one mid length putt all day, leaving the ball above the hole.

I have to say that Dubs is my favorite course in the area. No nonsense, well conditioned, and gently rolling. If it had one negative, it's the par 3's, which are basically alike.

I started the first round with two bogies after finding the greenside bunkers. On the third hole I short sided myself in the thick rough. Not the start I envisioned. I visualized chipping it in, and damn if I didn't. Sweet. On the fourth hole I stuffed a gap wedge to within 2 feet, and before you know it I'm even par. Two more pars, and I'm on a roll. However, I pushed a 3 wood off the tee on 7, and in the drink. I still managed a nice bogie. Two more pars and I made the turn one over.

I had my only 3 putt of the day on 11, finding myself on the wrong side of a hump. I bogied the two par 3s on the back, but made a nice birdie putt on the par 5 15th. Bogies on 17 and 18, but overall a very nice 77.

The 2nd go around was more of the same. Excellent tee to green, but nothing falling. Still, a solid round of 78.

Overall, a very satisfying day on the course. Certainly can't argue with the pace.

Not sure about a replay rate but I believe it's $100 after 4PM. At least it was last summer.

Played Ravisloe last Friday. Fairways are in pure nick. The tees and greens are slightly little worn though. Playable but could be better.

take it easy on fresh... She may not be a beauty but she's my beauty. Only reason I play it is because it it close to home but the last time I played it they had a couple tee boxes covered with weeds.

Seven bridges is pretty simple on the front 9 but the back can be a pain in the a$$ if there is any wind. 17 and 18 are easy holes but the first 7 on the back can be tough.
