That's a great combo you got coming for your kid!

Yeah he is really accurate with the Nike Speed. It spins a lot for him and helped him keep it in play. He is pretty straight with the driver and the XR16 is a good 15 yards farther for him. He only drives it 225-230 as he is a late blooming 13 year old. Some of the kids out drive him by 75 yards lol. Yes there are 14 year old kids that are pumping it 295-305. Crazy. Any extra yards he can get for now helps until he grows. :)

So I missed my qualifier by one shot. My hand was hurting and I couldn't turn the club over. I weakened my grip because my normal grip was hurting. Which is slightly stronger than neutral. I was hitting the ball terrible all over the planet. I missed 16 greens and 13 fairways. But I learned a lot about me and my game and even though the placings and score doesn't reflect this is one of my best rounds that I was most proud of myself. I had 9 putts on the front nine and finished with a 76, including a chip in on 8 for birdie. I got up and down from everywhere and made everything. It was such a bad ball striking round I was making 15-20 footers for par on more than one occasion and getting up and down from 40-50 yards on par 4s lol! But I handled myself like a pro when things were bad and grinding my butt off and turned in the lowest score I could yesterday.

 

Really happy with the Tour Aeroburner. I've been looking for something I can carry 250-260 off the deck. It gets up higher than my Nike. Not replacing it just yet but I really feel it's a great 3 wood.

 

Mid Am qualifying is on the 1st. Really excited for that!

Ok take the positive from that experience and apply it to your Mid Am qualifier--- Keep it in your mind that you are capable of scrambling your butt off-- That fact alone takes pressure off of your overall game-- When I was younger scrambling with the short irons and putter kept me in the competition because I was wild off the tee long but wild. Good luck in your qualifier--- Actually by reading the stats you posted you turned a possible 85 into a 76 and that is saying something

So Mid AM qualifying tomorrow. Haven't really touched a club for about a week as I am trying to let my hand heal up. Even if I wanted to I have not had the time to practice or anything. Just going to focus on my process tomorrow and staying in the moment. Not letting my mind wonder about outcomes, just execute. Putting the Flex in the bag tomorrow instead of the Vapor Fly Tour. Also keeping the Tour Aeroburner in the bag as well. This course is short and tight with smaller fast greens. Placement will be key. It is not a course you can overpower. I plan on only hitting two drivers tomorrow but the drives need to be straight and tight. I feel like the Flex my not give me that extra 10 yards I find with the Fly, but it is a heck of a lot straighter for me. I think its just easier for me to set my eyes up to it with the dual color combo. Really liking the Aeroburner as well. :)

It was great off the tee. Had to really evaluate why I had it in the bag. It's a great stinger club off the tee, but doesn't do anything I can't do with my 4 iron. Def not as easy to hit as the VF Hybrid. I love the VF Hybrid. It sets up VERY open. It's 2* flat as well. Does not go left on me which is hard to find from a hybrid. The D+ doesn't feel as good as a Tour AD Di but I still love the club. The 915HD was a great club, but it would go left a lot on me.

Shot 79 yesterday at the mid am and I'm shutting it down for about a month to let my hand heal. Low was 66 and some guys posted 90+ lol. I just can't seem to control the face right now with my hand the way it is. Well shutting it down after I play one more round Thursday lol

You're a beast man! After reading how much you liked the Vapor Fly I went and got it and the Vapor Pro driver and have to agree that the Vapor Fly is very under rated. I think most are put off by the stock Tensei shaft in it. I threw both a D+ and my GP7X and the thing hits straight high bombs.

I like the Fly. But loving the Flex. I had the wrong shaft in it last time. This time I have a AD Di that is softer in flex. It's an absolute beast. Might have to get a backup. Might be the best combo I've ever had. Not as long as the Fly that I had but soooo much straighter.

So I am really bummed about Nike dropping out of the equipment industry. If I didn't have personal relationship with guys from Nike then I would probably have a different outlook. But just knowing what some of my friends have to go through really tugs at my heart and it sucks. Kind of pissed off at the whole thing. That's business for you though. They don't give a damn, it's all about the dollar. There are no emotions. From the golf side of things it will be hard to support a brand that quits. Nike is a quitter to me now and I don't like quitters.

 

That being said I wonder where my bag will end up? It's the most solid bag I've ever had. The only thing I could see is the T-MB but the VFP beat the T-MB for me. I guess I will rock the irons for a while and still do the same thing every year. Try to beat my driver from the previous year. That would be the two Nike drivers I have. Flex 440 and Fly tour from the Oven. If Mike Taylor and Franklin end up somewhere I will support them anywhere they go so. Also it would be interesting to see where my fitter ends up and how he thinks the equipment company he ends up stacks up to the Nike stuff that was never released. They had some amazing stuff coming for 2017/2018 and it sucks we will never see the light of day with them.

Thanks for the backhanded compliment..... I was not trying to blast him though.... I just keep reading about all these guys being disgruntled over Nike ending the equipment division but then they talk about buying new clothes or what not, I am not speaking of any one person in particular. If people truly feel strongly about it than get rid of all the Nike s*** and never buy it again....
